i plan to be of good cheer to my patients esp. in my field- nephrology nursing. I want to give the best times to my chronically ill patients even before they enter their last few days of treatment. In my 2 yrs. of experience in dialysis, i can say that lots of lives are lost in CKD but as nurses we need to give them a lot of patience, humor & love. Most importantly, share the Gospel of the Lord to them =)

my fellow nurses i do think it's because NURSING per se is a Female profession through History. We can see it in Nightingale's time and even other cultures. In China and Korea, Nurses are women. Male nurses seemed to be nowhere in their culture. Most people would assume doctors to be Men and nurses to be Women. DOCTORS need a leadership and authoritative role just as MEN needs to lead his subordinates and women are not placed in leadership positions in most cultures. It's even Biblical to have MEN as leaders rather than women. I'm also an RN and male nurses in the Philippines are treated equal. I can perform procedures to female patients here =)

i believe most nurses are inspired rather than persuaded to enter the Nursing industry. I myself have a lot to tell... My grandpa died of UGIB, my grandma died of CVA, my brother had an open heart due to Tetralogy of Fallot, my uncle died of ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia)... unconsciously, they played a foundation on why I'm now in nursing. I regard my patients as next to kin coz I wanted to feel that they too are like my relatives. Love your patients =) :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe

as far as i know, there's an ANSAP chapter in every province/region. . . try inquiring in local hospitals there like Cebu Doctor's Hospital, etc. . here in manila, the only available i know is in United Doctors Med. Center in Welcome Rotonda, Espana, QC

You're not alone lasko so don't feel sorry.... when u look at the NCSBN statistics, the mortality in NCLEX-RN is high even if US grads have an average of 80+%.... Considering the influx of foreign nurses, the mortality is much higher among us.... Foreign Nurses only get a minimum of 40+% passers.... So don't lose hope coz it means that you still have a chance to pass... kudos!

yeah, it's a trend here... but i just happend to be influence by my clasm8s, relatives n neighbors... but i still got a connection coz my aunt's a nurse too... my uncles's a doctor....... voila! i'm a nurse.

maybe the evidences are strong and you must be thankful you're not fired...

it's a normal thing to cry over grief or concern... i felt teary eyed when two patients were rushed to the recovery room and were victims of burglary in their store. Sad news, the father died and the two siblings just can't help but cry when they saw each other... we all felt teary eyed even my fellow male classmates....

patients had the right to choose....... it doesn't matter if a male/female nurse do it, it's the same nursing care/mgt every nurses do......

male nursing is cool... but some people just don't appreciate it.....

Unsure. Coz there's a reason why we're we are... there may be more "authority" privileges among RNs i think

If you have the other requirements, it would be better like the IELTS, Job Order, etc.......

i sure must hope that i'm dumb in my next try... maybe the reason i failed is that i felt confident that i passed........... =(

I hope so... coz if it's based on S.A.T.A. then i'm doomed to fail...... still hoping for a 3rd chance next year or maybe by november.......

Is passing the NCLEX depend on the number of SELECT ALL THAT APPLY? some of my friends say so and u need to have 3 or more to pass.... i only got 2... i FAILED...

that's what i felt when i retook it... i'm hoping for another question after 75 but it just shut down and i FAILED... =(

oh that's good you're already preparing to take it again. but for me i think I will work first in my country for a year then take it again when i'm ready. It's harder on foreign nurses in the US coz we spend a lot, take 2 or 3 exams (NCLEX, CGFNS, IELTS) before making it to the US. Hope you'll make it on your next exam... Godspeed.

I also FAILED. Thinking that I will pass this time is really an illusion. I took it twice but only improved a little on the 2nd try... It's very discouraging if you failed knowing that you prepared and paid hard for this NCLEX....
