  2. Thanks everyone for the input I have the Omnicare markerter currently stocking me to switch over. I was intrested because they will do the MR for you however after reading several of your post Im not to sure.....
  3. Hi everyone I haven't been on in a while and so glad I founf this thread. I currently work as a NUrse Manager in a ALZ ALF we have two faclities and hold a total 36 residents. I love my job and wouldn't change it for the world. We have two amazing NP that make visits/rounds and I have learned a ton for them. IM incharge of almost everything ie. contacting MD, MARS, new orders all the wasy down to fire drils and ordering TP. Does anyone elso do the pill boxing system out there?
  4. Lunesta is not scored, and if it was when you cut a 3mg pill in half that would have been 1.5mg. In my opnion that would have been a medication error and as a DON I would have had a fit as well. What she should have done is got a one time order for 3mg untill the 2mg was avail.
  5. Im a new grad in texas pass my board in Feburary 08. Im working in assisted living @ $17.00 hr. between 16-20 residents. Nursing Homes here pay between 17-22 a hr. I interviewed at a hospital starting pay was $14.50. (a joke) I do however feel that I am not utilizing my skills to my fullest ability and sometimes wonder if I should move on.............
  6. I met with TCN last week but did not sign. Its just seemed to expensive and I already owe $20,000 in student loans. I did a little reasearch and want to go directly through Excelsier. I have no idea how to get started. I plan on taking three class at my local CC over the summer and then I will need Ethics, Micro and A&P and off course all my LVN-RN courses. Any advise? Should I by pass summer school and take the other courses with excelsier? :nurse:Emerld2000:nurse:
  7. Congradulations!!! Im glad you feel so confident about the test. The odds are in your favor. Everyone I know whos had 85 questions has passed. The wait is still nerve wracking though. Let me know when you find out:cheers:
  8. Good luck to you and please do not overstudy. Right before i walked into the Pearson Vue testing center I called my sister I said "I hope I got what it take to pass this test" she said "you don't have anything to worry about you've already got it now you need to apply it" I feel like 10,000 lbs have been lifted off my back. Im sorry you have to wait 4 weeks I would have gone crazy! Good luck again
  9. Paradise, we all feel inadequate after taking this exam. The odds are in your favor only having 85 questions three of us from our class took the test so far we all passed and all had 85 questions. My other friend took hers today also got 85 questions. I know the wait is very nerve wracking....you came to the right place. Your in my prayers. Emerld 2000 LVN
  10. I also took a live review. The NURSE who gave it suggested to study out of a new NCLEX book to prevent you from just memorizing your answers.
  11. I took my NCLEX on 2/2 and just found out today that I PASSED:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: I used saunders and Kaplin Q BANK I was scoring in the %70 range on Kaplin. I liked Kaplins because I felt that those questions really challenged me. Saunders was good as long as you read the rational. GOOD Luck!!
  12. Ruper, just went on the pearson vue web site and got my results.......... I PASSED:w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t: I was so nervour entering my credit card # in Im continuing my education and I was in the lobby of my school and I broke down and cryed. My friend was at the computer next to me checking her results she also passed:w00t::w00t::w00t: Thanks for the info about checking in 48 hours. That was the best $7.95 I ever spent..:w00t:
  13. I took NCLEX 2/2 I too had 85 questions. 20-30 select all that apply. My results are in on the pearson web site and I passed:w00t::w00t::w00t:My two friends test also stoped at 85 and they also passed:w00t::w00t: I think to odds are in your favor. Good Luck!
  14. Keep us posted on what you decide to do. I hope everything turns out for the best.
  15. My test was heavy med surg. I think I had questions over all the systems. My friend says that good when your test jumps aroung like that means your probally geting them right. Don't know if thats true??? I hope. Did not have any calculation questions, lots of pharm can't remember any particular meds that part was a blur, just remember sitting at the computer thinking OK what does this med do?? At any rate I spent most of my last min studing looking at acid base balance and culture. Did not have any questions on those two areas. Know your lab Values, and try not to over study. I went to a live review and the instructer said "do not study the day before your test" but I had to do what felt right for me and I studyed, but not extensivly. Good Luck, someone on another posting said I may have my quick results posted tomorrow. I hope so. I think the wait is harder than the test.
  16. You worked way to hard to be working short. To say the least what if something was to happen to one of your pt. Do you think the Board of Nursing will give you a break because you had to many pt. When you accept your pt load for a shift you assume responsiblity for there care. If you feel you are unable to give your patient the care because you have to many patients then get out. Its not worth your license. On the other hand you may be able to resolve the whole issue with the Nurse MGR by bringing to her attention what the CNA's are doing. DO you have the authority to write them up? You should not feel like you can only ask the CNA to do something if your to busy after all they are there to help. I to worked as a PCA?Med Aide and I never disrespected my nurses like that. Good Luck!!
  17. The man at the testing center said business days. Yes my state has rapid results. Did you look your results up on the pearson vue site. Its reasuring to know I can start looking on MON. I hope I pass.....its just all those select all that apply questions have me worried.
  18. Took my NCLEX today stoped at 85 questions. I had 20-30 select all that apply. Usually missed those questions when studing.:icon_roll Last week I debated on rescheduling but went ahead and took the test. I also studied with kaplins q bank and was scoring in the 70%-80% a few 60%. Im freaking out I just keep telling myself whats the worst thing that can happen? Fail and retest in 45 days. I also graudated with honors 3rd in my class. The downfall is Im working as a GVN and everyone will know I failed becaure they revoke your permit when you don't pass. Keep studying and brush up in the areas you feel inadequate in. Let me know how yopu do. I'll be praying for my fellow NCLEX testers.
  19. Congrats on your new job! Took NCLEX today I had 85 Questions. 20-30 Select all that apply. Im feeling down a few questions stuck out in my head and when I went to look them up I had answered wrong. Im freeking out and it probally won't be untill wed that I know anything
  20. I worked as a med passer for 3 years in a ALF. I know ALF rules allow you to pass meds even if your not a nurse as long as you have X amount of hours of training. Im not sure who is liable in the event of a error. I never had one. Also in Texas we have a 4 month program that allows CNA's to become certified as a medication aide. In that case you work under the nurse but can have your certification revoked in the even errors are made.
  21. Took NCLEX today. Shut off after 85 questions. I had in between 20-30 select all that apply Questions almost felt like every other question. Im freeking out. Testing center said that results will be in tue or wed. I don't know what Im going to do with myself until then. Congrats to all who passed!!:w00t:
  22. I would like to suggest a Medical Terminology class or book. Most LVN/LVN courses don't offer MED TERM. When I started nursing school I had alredy taken a course as I was a MA, peers in my class who had never worked in the medical field had some trouble grasping the med term.
  23. Alpha dogI graduated from Texas Careers in San Antonio TX. Not everyone in my class has receivedthere ATT. I think it depends on when you send your BNE and Pearson vue fee. I sentmy fee to the Texas BNE 2 months before I graduated and then I sent my fee to pearsonvue Nov. 12 aprox one month before I graduated. In Texas they require you to pay Pearson Vue before the BNE sends you your ATT. Then you may schedule your test. Classmates of mine who paid Pearson Vue at the end of NOV are still waiting on thereGVN permit and ATT. Good Luck.
  24. I am a GVN in San Antonio. My ALF has offered me $17.00 hr area NH are paying 17-20 hr.
