Not that I know of. Faculty has not mentioned any evening classes. I suggest calling the campus for up to date information regarding upcoming classes.

I think you need to have a student id for the accuplacer, not sure. it is cheaper if you have a degree and only need to take the reading. most of my points came from my sciences, math and pharm.

ADN Program Lone Star College
The instructor I took at N. Harris is highly sought after and her classes fill up quick! She has daily quizes which I think are a plus because they encourage you to continue studying and if I remember correctly, she has some of those same questions on the lecture exams. She is very easy to understand because she helps you understand. She also has an open door policy in which you can see her in her office if you catch her. I recommended her class to a few friends and they also did well. Of course, it is a difficult class. I'm not saying it was easy. But I do think she is one of the best professors I've had the privilege of having during my pre-reqs. I received an A in the class because she made the course material interesting, fun and easier to understand. With your grades so far, why not apply to a BSN program? You can get into the N. Harris program with A's in the following classes: Eng 1301, Psych 2301, and BIO 2401 or 2402 and as long as you finish all the other pre-reqs in the degree plan. The 3 classes I mention are the only ones they look at your gpa. For the other classes, you get points just for completing them with a C or above. Weird how that works. I didn't get in because I had 2 B's in ENG 1301 and BIO 2301 respectively even though I made A's on all my other courses.

Those are pretty good GPA's . I think mine was a 137. I'm still debating whether I should commute or move lol.

See ya ther kliz. Any recommendations on apartments in Webster, Friendswood or Clear Lake? I really know nothing about the area other than getting to campus. It'll be a 100+ mile commute rountrip if I stay where I am.

College of the Mainland, Texas City
Yeah, i am actually for northside of Houston. I will have to move so my commute will be less than 100+ miles roundtrip. I believe since it is outside of Houston, many students prefer not to move or have not heard about it alltogether. I recently found out about it and applied. Only nursing programs down there are College of the Mainland in Texas City, Galveston College in Galveston Island, and UTMB which is the only BSN program.

TWU Spring 2008
I recently attended the May 31 orientation/seminar for prospective nursing students at the Houston campus and they said cutoff gpa's for past semesters have been as low as 3.2 and other semesters 3.7 was the lowest. They encouraged us to continue to apply because it may change depending on the # of applicants they receive and other factors such as when they have room for more students.

Congratulations and welcome to AllNurses.com Maireez! Thanks for that post. It can happen and if you have patience and an inner drive, anybody can do it :)- NET test...my stomach is in knots
That is a great website Laura! Thanks for posting it up. Kudos!- North Harris College (NHMCCD)
I know somebody who recently received an acceptance letter from NHC with a little shy less of an 11. She isn't asking how, or why but is ecstatic that she is in. This is the reason why I did not apply for fall and am working towards my bsn requirements.- UT-Houston Fall 2007 Applicants
Can anybody direct me to the UTHSC's online application link? Or will it not open until later this year? I really want to begin applying as soon as I can. I already applied to TWU but for admissions only, not the College of Nursing.- Food And Nutrition Spring 2007
Although I received a 97% on my Micro Test, I received an 81% on my first Nutrition test. This was due to me neglecting this class. This will not happen again LOL. Good luck to everybody. I have a test first thing as soon as Spring Break is over.- Microbiology Spring 2007
Spring Break! Finally! Not really a break since we have a lab practical and Unit II as soon as we get back. I am holding on to a 93 average and I'm planning on keeping that way or increasing it with extra credit. Good luck to everybody! And have fun along with the studying! That is the only way you will be satisfied with your results :-) p.s. Group study helps!- Microbiology Spring 2007
Congrats on everyone's test! an 86 is still good. Micro is not an introductory course. Good job princessa and Catz! I'm about to go take my exam.- Got my acceptance letter
Congratulations Howard!:balloons: Don't forget about all of us. Keep us updated! :w00t:- Microbiology Spring 2007
a reason why some gram + (purple) may appear gram - (pink) may be due to heat-fixing the smear too long causing some of the cell walls in those bacteria to rupture. another could be that you didn't allow the smear you prepared to air-dry completely. then when you heat-fixed it, the water still there causes the gram (+) cell wall to rupture, therefore not holding the primary stain intact. another would be that you let the decolorizer sit for too long. on another note, making a smear too thick may cause a smear to stain both colors. this is because the decolorizer penetrates through some, but not all. leaving the decolorizer sit for too short may cause some gram (-) cells to apear gram (+). it could also be what you stated above; the other class not following proper protocol. those were just suggestions i wrote above, hopefully it helps. how were your other slides?- Changing careers but discouraged by a failed student
Yup! My first thought was that she is afraid you will succeed and surpass her dedication and abilities. If not, ask tell her you didn't know that being female was a requirement to be a Nurse- woman's view, shocked at the emotional anger directed towards male students
Wow, that sounds ludicrous especially about not working with the student if he only had one (1) clinical left. That is just absurd to hear and sounds like whoever dismissed them were on a mission. This infuriates me, considering of course that they were excellent students. - 3.2 pre-req gpa will start on fall07
