period of adaptation ireland
Did the Irish Board give you a reason why you needed a period of adaptation? Did either of you end up finding placement in these approved hospitals in Dublin? How much experience did you have before trying to register? I'm an American nursing student and I graduate in May 2009 and want to move to Ireland as soon as possible after graduation. Do you think there is any way they will consider me for registration or adaptation as a new graduate without experience in America?

UT-Houston Fall 2007 Applicants
Hey folks! I had totally given up hope as well. But, mine just changed yesterday to "you have been granted provisional admission!!!' I had already mourned the loss of not getting in, so this was seriously a shock. I just kept reading the words over and over again. So, the moral of the story is, don't give up hope!!! See you folks in August! Paige

UT-Houston Fall 2007 Applicants
I think we talked about this earlier in the thread, but oh well. The questionnaire is nothing you can prepare for. Just factual stuff. What classes do you have remaining in terms of pre-reqs? Do you speak a foreign language? Are you among the first in your family to be in college? As for questions at the end of the interview... I totally got the vibe that it was just honest questions. I didn't ask anything that would 'impress" the person interviewing me. I just asked some things I wanted to know. Just be yourself, its not scary at all, I promise.

Hey there, does anyone have any idea how many people were asked to interview for the generic BSN? Or how many applied to the generic BSN? Just curious.

UT-Houston Fall 2007 Applicants
It was so weird.. my interview was at 2:00 PM, and of course I was WAY early just to make sure everything went alright. I got there at about 1:10.. and only one other person out of the six scheduled between 1 and 2 pm were there... so they took me almost an hour early. There was a written questionaire about pre-reqs completed, do you speak a foreign language, etc... but its only like 7 questions. It was like a ghost town.. it was weird. oh well, at least I got to work on time! :)

Hey folks! I just got home from my interview. It went very well-- it was totally comfortable. The woman who interviewed me teaches the first semester of Med-Surg. She was very sweet. She asked me 5 or 6 questions, and just got a feel for who I was, and that was it. I was only in there about 15-20 minutes. So don't worry, its no sweat! -p

So, my interview is in two days. I think I'm on the first day of interviews. I was kinda hoping someone on the board would go before me and post how it went.. maybe let me know what questions to prepare for.... Kidding! I'm feeling pretty good about it. I've thought over some pretty generic questions that they will most likely ask (or some variant of it..) Anyways, good luck to anyone else who is on the 15th.. and all of the rest of you, of course! -Paige
