  1. Yeah that is definitely a plus. Everyone wants to feel welcomed.
  2. Let them know you care. Tell them if they have any questions feel comfortable to ask you. Tell them important things they need to know about the job.
  3. Me and a couple of girls got in the program after waiting 6 years. My friend Sarah been waiting here at Grcc for 7 years and finally got a call. Some of the students are leaving because they get frustrated with waiting. Some of the students never get a call, even though they promise to call you and send a letter through mail. I am so glad I am done with all that. I went to Ferris to finished up. If you can go to another school. Grcc waiting list is ridiculous and they are so unorganized. They are known for losing and misfiling the nursing students' information all the time. I know this for a fact. So, please get a copy of everything you do and the stuff you give the secretary in the office.
  4. Wow ! Amazing story !
  5. Yes in a kind manner and not yelling at someone because one do not like them based on personal issues. We had a nurse that yelled at a hispanic patient because she said it was a culture barrier problem and she felt that she was less that her. It is sad, but that does happen more than we think.
  6. I been there. I know how it feels.
  7. Sometimes we can hurt or be cruel to a patient without even knowing it. All patients should be treated the same. In this work you have to have patience. Years ago in our culture class they made all the students go into the inner cities and work with people they felt uncomfortable with. I think that was a good experience.
  8. You are an awesome person ! To bad everyone is not like that.
  9. There is hope hun. I do believe you will find something.
  10. There are always nursing home jobs. I do understand your frustration. I also understand you might want a job that pays more than a nursing home, but sometimes you need alternatives. I once heard a girl say she will not work in a nursing home. I do not understand what people find wrong with them.
  11. Some people work and go to school full- time, which can be hard. I was told by nursing instructors to not work full -time because the classes are very intense. From experience, studying, doing tests, and other stuff in nursing school can be very time-consuming.
  12. The reason I asked this question is because we had an inservice at my job and they told us in so many ways nurses can show prejudices towards patients based on this. Does this happen with us not knowing what we are doing. Can you assume you know about a person based on their name ? Is this ethical ?
  13. I would like to tell some of the family members that are mean a thing or two.
  14. That is so true. That is what I believe overwhelmed me greatly. I cried my second or third day. I could not keep up with the reading.
  15. You know what you seem like a great person with a good heart. That is what it is about helping out others.
  16. Oh geez I can see that happening. I also resort to food when I am stress.
  17. I can only imagine its a great feeling that it is finally over. I just went to my friend's graduation in May , and she got her Masters in Social work . I pictured myself graduating at my friend's graduation. I know its a good feeling. Congrats !
  18. Sounds like a good idea :) If you need someone to talk to feel free to contact me.
  19. I would say when they do go reward them and let the Cnas know you appreciate all the work they do. I think that would help when I was a Cena it was a nurse that did this every know and then and it means alot. I bet they will start coming around. For example, you can buy them some cookies and juice or something else like every other week or something.
  20. It is I bought something from there once and sold stuff on there. I been scammed on there as well. It was this lady that sold me some stamps for an unbelievable price and I never recieved them . So my advice to you is be careful .If you see something that it to good to be true check it out before saying yes to it. For example, ask for the buyer phone number to make sure they're legit.
  21. I would try applying at all the Los Angeles health care agencies.
  22. That is so sad and wrong what that Rn did to you. Instead of people thinking they are better because of their title we all should work together as a team or family . No one is better than the next person.
  23. I dont believe that where do you get your statistics from ?
  24. what college are you guys attending ?
