  1. What floor do you work on at INOVA?
  2. I also work at a free standing pediatric hospital. I work on a floor with respiratory, neurology, renal. Those are our main ones but we do get other things also. We get a mix of stuff. I love the kids but right now, we are really sort staffed on our floor and it's causing a lot of stress. But I do like the hospital though just not some of the staff I work with at times.
  3. I am a peds nurse currently. Which hospital would you recommend in that area for peds. I currently work at CHKD in Norfolk but i am looking to relocate.
  4. Thank you. I will definitely keep that in mind.
  5. Do they have a peds floor? I am a pediatric nurse and was wondering about that.
  6. How do you like working there?
  7. I was trying to get information on these too hospitals in NC. Does anybody work there? If so how do you like? Any information I can get on these two hospitals would be greatly appreciated.
  8. I am currently a pediatric nurse and wanted to know information about it in general. What are the nurse patient ratios? How is the pay? How do you like working their overall? Any information will be gladly appreciated.
  9. How does the pay at the two hospitals compare?
  10. I currently work for Sentara. They start nurses off at 19/hr. And 8 dollars more for nights. I don't know about CHKD or Chesapeake General but I have heard that Portsmouth Naval pays even more than Sentara. I also have heard that Chesapeake General is actually going to pay 8 dollars more for nights also.
  11. How do you like working for CMC? And what is the pay and benefits like? I am moving to Charlotte next year and was wondering.
  12. Thanks a bunch for these verses! They came in handy.
  13. Which hospital is the better between the two in your opinion as far as pay and patient care and nurse patient ratio?
  14. No I am concerned that working nights will interfere with my studying.
  15. Ok I have taken the test twice and yet to pass. I am moving back home to VA from NC where I went to school. So I am going to be working at this hospital as a nursing assistant but I have a choice in the shift. I can either work nights or days. The difference is the floors and the managers. I really liked the floor offering a night position. So my question is do you guys think that it would be a good idea to work nights and study for my NCLEX? Let me give more about the hours, it's twelve hour shifts working three days a week and every other weekend. That goes for both days and nights. So what do you guys think?
  16. I am using Saunders right now too. I haven't gotten 75 on them all but the stuff I miss, is stuff that I have seen before on some questions so it's stuff I need to know. Don't be discouraged just look at is a great review of the content that you will definitely need to know. It is not going to hurt you only help you. I hope it helps!!
  17. I took the NCLEX on July 27th only to find out two days later that I did not pass it. I was real upset. I honestly didn't know where to begin until I was referred to this website. I am currently working on the study tip number one from Susan or Suzanne. Since I took the Kaplan class, I can take it again. So I am in the process of getting all the stuff together so that I can start back on the reviewing with them.
  18. Hello all, I am new. I graduated in May from North Carolina A&T state university. So that means I am in Greensboro. I plan to be here for about a year and a half and then move to Charlotte. I recently didn't pass the boards but I am going to retake it sometime in September. I am going to be working for Moses Cone on 5500 which is a med-surg/renal floor. I decided to do that to get my foot in the door.
