I am an LPN in a small facility. Many docs here order Morphine IV to be given to their pts. My problem is that as an LPN I cannot give IV push meds. When my pts ask for pain med for a pain level of 5/5 I have to ask the RN to give the med for me. ...

  13. Is CNA good experience for a future RN?

I do not agree with your post. I was an CNA for 10 years before becoming an LPN and I will tell you that the very hardwork that CNA's do are the basic care of the nursing profession. It is by no means a very small part. Even now I like to do vitals ...

When I was considering becoming a Nurse I asked many Nurses why they became Nurses if it is considered to be so stressful and difficult. One 30+ year Nurse explained it this way " The Peace Corps said it best its 'The toughest job you'll ever love'"...
  18. I fear my CNAs! lol

As a former CNA turned Nurse I have a few suggestions that may help the Nurse-CNA relationship. -if you are in a pt's room and they need vitals at that time and you are assessing pt. get the vitals and let the CNA know so that they don't do the wor...
  19. Ripped Off

I would ask if the nurses could have their pinning at a different time on the same day. That way every one can have more guests.
