Dismissal From Nursing Program - Is all hope lost?
Quite disturbing to hear you received such ill treatment leading to tears in a bathroom. My former mentors would be shocked to hear that kind of comment. I do not think so, since I have been treated with respect and trained right. But I do agree it is not for those who do not have to subject themselves to such treatment (not doing it for their kids or have huge financial burdens, etc). I can understand those who must do their careers in a certain way due to their life constraints.

California 1st in nation to require vaccines for health care workers
It is very interesting how America is becoming a collective society more than ever. Quite unlike the individualistic society it has already been for so many years.

California 1st in nation to require vaccines for health care workers
The vaccine can be scary, I suppose, if one is stricken by fear of anything medical related. It’s not uncommon to be afraid of needles even in grown adults. It makes me think half the population is full of hypochondriacs if they think the vaccine they are handing out like free candy is going to hurt them. Obviously, it’s not recommended for some, but generally it won’t kill anyone. Not saying that the vaccine is anything like candy at all.

Dismissal From Nursing Program - Is all hope lost?
That is my plan. It was at the height of covid and I was extremely distraught in general and not handling life well. It was on display when someone triggered me with extremely insensitive comments. It’s a extremely personal issue so for me to be honest is brutal and cruel of nursing schools to even ask if it happened during a freaking global crisis. I have to legit sit there crying while writing some testimony about how she was mean to me and I have to describe my worst life experiences and how I had no right to behave that way when people are dying.

Second career nurse? Accelerated BSN
I believe this post is pretty much your application essay topic. I believe it’s a perfect explanation of what happened between now and then. I think it’s enough to move a applicant to the top of the ranks. I would say go for it and apply anyway. It never hurts to put your name in the ring.

Harassment in Nursing School
Most of us don’t have the energy to put up a fight anymore against discrimination. It’s a exhausting and often losing fight - speaking from experience. It’s often left me feeling worse for even trying to speak up at all. I just sit there and subject myself to harassment now. I would just make sure you post a honest review of your experience on review sites for your school and/or ratemyprofessor so that you can warn future students of what may come.

how many prerequisites did you take a semester as a mom working full-time?
I have a classmate who is a mother of a young child. I believe her motto is “Cs get degrees”. I felt bad for her when she said that. Most full time students think of their pursuit as their babies, but she actually has a baby. So it’s almost like life is not fair.

ABSN Programs: low or no minimum GPA requirements
There are plenty if you cast a wide net and willing to move for them. It’s often difficult if you went to one neighboring school to another. Best chances are at a small private school out of state that has no experience with the matter of the schools you’ve been to already. The more additional credits you take, the more it will keep going up and up. It’s not often a hard road for many, but there are people who have worked double for a nursing degree. I know someone who said it took her 8 years to get a nursing degree. She had to withdraw for personal reasons or go back to work, and ended up taking a extremely scenic route to get there. Don’t give up hope. Just think of it as a life long venture.

Financial aid for accelerated nursing programs
Highly unlikely to get a substantial sponsorship of any kind at those types of institutions. That’s like asking if there’s a discount on a Louis Vuitton bag or Cartier watch. Um no. It only gets pricier.

"A&P 1" and "Lifespan Growth and Development" Question
Hello, I think it is excellent to take them together. If those are your only two classes it should be pretty easy. Anatomy and Physiology requires a ton of your time. Developmental psychology material is easier to remember so not as strenuous to study for. Anatomy is just running drills multiple times daily just to remember enough of it to ace an exam. Anatomy was tough, but in retrospect I enjoyed studying for it. I used to think studying for Developmental Psychology was sort of like “taking a break” from Anatomy and Physiology.
