  1. Thanks for the reply. Here is MA there are a lot of positions that are going 7on/7off, an agreed schedule so it is not OT. I did have a colleague also look at a position in NH. It sounds great to have a whole week off, and the 7 on is 8-5 with no on call.
  2. Do you mind sharing the pros/cons? Sounds good in theory, just wanted to hear some feedback, thx
  3. Wanting to hear feedback from other students/alum for this program. Appreciate your thoughts, Thank you!
  4. Hello, anyone have any feedback on their online MSN-DNP program? I am looking for an online DNP with a leadership focus. I am an MSN FNP-C now, TY!
  5. Thank you, I was having a rough time last night... one of those questioning all my life choices. For anyone else having those moments...
  6. I am currently in a DNP program 1st semester, I was loving the work at the beginning of the semester, I was excited for everything. End of semester, I am doubting everything, and I am working on papers that I would normally love, but I am unsure of what I am saying. I thought I knew what my project was but I am looking at it and it seems like the stupidest thing. Ugh. What am I doing?
  7. ?Hello, I am a working FNP. Right now I'm in a DNP program taking two classes. I feel stretched and next semester I would like to take one class instead of two, have you done this, is this considered part time? Or is two classes part time? Do schools frown upon you going down to one class? With work ramping up it's challenging to do at all with the family etc, thank you thank you thank you for your guidance.
  8. Looking over the curriculum and wish I had a rubric for the classes! Starting Jan 2024, would love to hear any feedback, TY!
  9. I'm an FNP and work in an outpatient clinic m-f. It is a great place, however, I am itching to go to urgent care. One, I also like the hours, as I feel it would be a better lifestyle balance. I have done suturing courses and I am following podcasts and Youtube for UC content. I have applied for several jobs in UC but don't hear back. As an RN I worked in med surg etc NOT in ED or CC. So do I have a shot? What can I do to improve my chances of getting into an UC. Also I am in my late 40s and worried my age is against me going into something new?? TY!
  10. Sorry to hear this happened. I have NP colleagues and friends who are working in hospitals as hospitalists as well as in specialties, all shifts, and they are large teaching hospitals. Your dream job is out there! Your conversation reminds me of a speech I just saw from one of the golden girls receiving an award, and she talked about how in life there are a lot of kicks but for every kick there is a boost! You'll get your boost! While I see many new NP grads, I also see MANY NP jobs, and calls/texts/emails from recruiters. I am team optimism ?
  11. I am looking to do a post masters and I was looking at these programs, any feedback? TY
  12. still waiting on credentialing.... I sent an email today, I will let you know if I hear a response.
  13. Has anyone taken a boot camp or class for Urgent care refresher? I have seen classes from a couple hundred dollars up to 1k. Was looking for some honest reveiws, TY!
  14. Any NPs work at a boarding school? I was looking at a perdiem position, I have a FT job I like just looking to supplement and I like to stay busy ? thx for any feedback
  15. Hello! I work outpatient. I want to use a flowsheet in my visit. So for example, let's say the Glascow coma scale, I want to be able to document in that so I can trend my data every visit for this pt. How do I create a smartphrase for this flowsheet so I can bring it into my note? I have seen the equation @flo()@ ??? Thanks for any help!
  16. Hi, I accepted a position with this company. They told me min 14 hours. I work full time but I can mange that with weekends and nights, as they said they offer 24/7 service. Curious to see how long credentialing takes.
  17. I have an FNP, work in outpatient neurology practice at a large hospital and we see OSA pts. I diagnose, order tests, order sleep studies, order equipment.. etc. I also see other neuro conditions. When I was looking for a neuro job a provider during and interview told me if I didn't get this job and had my heart set on neuro, there are a lot of neuro jobs out there. ?
  18. I am an FNP and I work in Neurology outpatient, just wanted to pass this on as it's great to know and good for the resume, you can get certified to perform the MoCA for free, otherwise it is $150. Useful if you are looking to work in neuro or even geri, family/adult, www.mocatest.org
  19. Have you tried locum tenens? Jobs I've gotten are 10+ week assignments. I work with Jake at Barton Associates. I don't know if I can post his number here?
  20. Hello, I am looking to enroll in a course, just not sure what outlet as I've seen online and in person in my area. I do have a new locums gig for 12 weeks with an hour drive each way, wondering if I could do it in my car... Any feedback appreciated, ty
  21. I was wondering about this too... The ones I have been seeing say looking for NPs but underneath it says you will be working under your RN license. Any one here apply or start this opportunity?
  22. Can anyone comment on the caliber of their clinical didactic classes? I.e. pharmacology, adv pathophysiology?________________ I just finished the FNP program, I transferred in my Adv Patho from another university, but I did take Pharm at Regis and it was very intense. It is 16 weeks and essentially a system is covered per week give or take. It sets up a good foundation but as you go throughout your program you will keep building on the pharm knowledge. The nursing theory coursework is a lot of writing APA, but it is what you would expect from a Master's trained nurse course. They are helping you develop into a strong critical thinker with excellent writing skills. People go through the program, graduate and go onto to become NPs. Some don't. It's not easy but if this is your goal they are willing to help you achieve this. GL
  23. Hello, did you end up purchasing the Ebay version? I am looking to purchase audio review as well, ty
  24. I am in the online FNP program. I have had a harder time finding pediatric and women's health preceptors. That being said I still found people. I had the best luck with going through work connections. But actually my best one was a place I emailed and the secretary knew someone. The faculty at Regis have been great, very supportive always there if I need something via email or phone etc. It's a lot of information to learn, you need to be a motivated learner and take the lead. No one is going to spoon feed you information, but then again when I go see a health provider I want them to be able to be a holistic caregiver who can critically think about me and my health, not just someone who memorized some facts and half read a book :-)
  25. Hello, I am in the online FNP program. I was doing a MSN generalist elsewhere and decided to do this program and was allowed to transfer in 2 classes only, Adv Patho, and Nursing Research. I have done 4 classes so far and it is going well. I have 3 kids and I work 36hrs a week, plus I have a perdiem I pick up here and there. I do plan on scaling back when I start clinicals next semester though... The professor have been good, when I reach out they respond. I am working on finding preceptors and that is on my own but they say start early and network. Nursing school was very hard but we did it! This is hard to but if you want to you can make it work! That is my belief anyway ? I have cried a few times already hahha, rethought what the heck am I doing.... but I am still in the program. I heard there is a FB group though for the online program, I wish I knew it as I would love to just chat with people about school.. GL everyone!
