Should I disclose for licensure?
I am debating on whether I not I should add my disposition dicument and letter of explanation to my TN application to the BON. I have a previous dismissed petty charge when I was 15-years-old (so, six years ago). I was never convicted of a crime because of the completion from a diversion program. The TN app ask to check whether I have Plead guilty to any misdemeanors or felonies and I checked "no". Now, I'm thinking about whether I should retify that answer and submit court documents even though I said no on the application? I have no criminal record on a standard background check, but I know this is federal and that is very scary that my dismissed charges may show.

Whew! I just graduated from my ABSN program. But the weight is still not off my chest because I have to pass NCLEX.

Do employers look at new grad grades?
My job looked at my overalls GPA and I needed at least a 3.2 to apply. I had to upload my transcript to the application. So, some employers may ask and some may not. If you have a low GPA don't apply to jobs that requires high GPAs and you'll be fine.

Any RNs considering medical school?
This is just the wrong site to bash the profession.

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2019
Someone else on this site said that they could wear any color besides ER. Though I'm not sure how accurate that is. Do you know if they offer any bonuses for signing their contracts? Link: https://allnurses.com/nursing-job-hunt/vanderbilt-nurse-residency-1104912-page10.html

Chemistry - how much is used in school?
I took Organic Chemistry and none of it helped me or was even used in nursing school. However, I also took general chemistry and that helped me to hone my dimensional analysis skills for dosage calculations. But you should also be aware of the exact chemistry class you need as a prerequisite. Email your advisor to clarify.

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2019
Yes, maybe. Though I was told that there was a lot of interview slots left and that's why my application was even considered as I started it on 8/20 and submitted it the next morning.

How long does it take to complete a BSN?
It will take mines 3 1/2 years because I took 16 nursing credits in the summer. But prerequisites took me 2 years total.
-
What do you wish you had known?
Stop worrying about everyone else's progress in the course and just focus on yourself. Because I would constantly compare my test grades to my classmates which would just make me feel down about myself. Though there is no need as I still personally consider myself a good student at the end of the day.

Changing Majors
You dont have to give up nursing completely if it's really what you want to do. Try to find another program or go for your LPN in the mean time.

When did things start to click~?
It all started clicking for me when I started my med-surg class because the patho is important.

Share your 1st day of class experiences
My 1st day of nursing school consisted of nothing but ADPIE and the importance of nursing diagnoses....yay.

12 and 1/2 hours with only 30 minutes for lunch
So, a nursing student must stand for 12 hours??? You are crazy. Nurses don't even stand that long and sit when they can. Sometimes I even see them scrolling through their emails or on Facebook when they are sitting in those chairs at the nurses station.

12 and 1/2 hours with only 30 minutes for lunch
You are a student, not a nurse! You should be allowed ALL of your breaks if you're just standing around. Honestly, you don't have to stalk the call bell because there is still a nurse and a tech still in attendance.

Motivation running low
Same! I have 3 weeks until the end of my summer semester and I'm lacking so much motivation right now. Now I just study enough to get by (1-2 hours) then take the test and hope for the best.

Prereq question
You might as well take all 9 Classes and apply to both the ADN and BSN program. A year and a half of prerequisites does not seem terrible.

How many hours a week do you spend on school?
Im in an accelerated program this summer, so my life is basically school all of the time. However, during a regular semester I usually spend about 10-15 of studying a week max. My theory hours are usually the majority of my hours like going to school Monday-Thursday and spending about 3-5 hours per class.

Eating the patients' food?
This may be a stupid question to you nurses, but why not just bring a snack from home and eat it at work? You could bring healthly snacks that fill you up too.
