I turned to an.com due to a med error in my very first clinical....gave a fiber powder to a resident that the nurse had prepared. the HORROR!
Now, as I mark this milestone, I am changing fields to telemetry nursing. Leaving a old group of work friends and turning to ones that I am looking forward to knowing.
I LOVE my job, even when the families make it tough. when I leave, the patients usually forget my name and turn me into the other guy I work with.
I hope that 3000 posts from now, you are where you want to be. I'm sure I have a much longer post in me somewhere, but I have worked the last 3 nights and am looking forward to go snuggle with my wife and my puppy. See you sometime after sunset.

The OP is just saying that when she first joined allnurses (zero posts) she has come a long way and is wondering where everyone will be once they get to/surpass the 3000 post mark.
Congratulations on your new job, locolorenzo22. We look forward seeing more of your posts. :)
thanks for clarifying. I just didn't understand what she said about giving a drug that someone else prepared as not being wrong. It is wrong...no matter what the drug. It's a mistake. If that's why she's changing to a different job, I wish her luck with that and encourage her to follow policy. :smackingf

as a 10yr+ an poster, i am amazed at the growth of our long term members from prestudent to lpn/rn, later gaining bsn/msn and few doctorates. we all make mistakes, strive for the best, learn from and help others --with an support one can accomplish their dreams.
my telemetry advice: despite the rhythm look at the patient first! acetone pads rock to get off adhesive too.
enjoy your new nursing position!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe this nurse said that he had a wife. The nurse is a dude!
The OP never said that the med error was not wrong.
The OP is just stating that when first came here, it was about a med error at that time (7 years ago).
I'm certain OP has grown from that experience and now, 7 years later, is moving on to a new job.
:)
Thanks for the clarification.
