Nursing Clogs

Hello.

I'm looking into getting some nursing clogs/mules (not sure of the difference yet). The particular ones i'm looking at are the "Sanita Womens Koi Starlight Mule". If anyone has these I'd love to hear your opinions. But my main question is this: Does anyone know how these are cleaned? I work in the operating room and sometimes get nasty stuff on my shoes... just want to be sure I can clean them before making that large of an investment.

Thanks!!!!

You may want to head over to the Nursing Scrubs/Uniforms/Gear forum and see what's there. Personally, I wear completely impervious shoes when I scrub. They are easy to wipe off with the Caviwipes. My current pair is Klogs Boca Mule. I also wear a pair of athletic sneakers for when I circulate.

I wear Danskos and I just wipe 'em down with Lysol wipes if they get oogie. Mostly I just leave them alone. I'm in a school, not an OR.

Thank you Rose_Queen !! I'll definitely check out the link!

Get patent leather shoes, and you can wipe them down regularly. I'm a huge fan of Dansko (never tried Sanitas, but I know they're very similar). I have about 8 pairs. I tried Alegria but did not find them comfortable.

I work in the OR as well and I LOVE my Danskos. I wear shoe covers over them but sometimes they do get gross stuff on them. When that happens, I just wipe them down. I also NEVER wear them home. I always change my shoes at work and leave those at the hospital. I don't want to take any gross stuff to the house.

I also have Danskos. Works perfect for my 12 hr clinicals.

What are you shoes made of???.... The ones you wipe down? The ones I'm looking at are 100% Leather.

Like I said, patent leather. Don't know if Sanitas makes patent leather, but Dansko does.

I love my Alegria and Danko shoes. Comfy. I have Santa's but they're not as comfy. Go somewhere and try some on before buying because everyone has an opinion bug not everyone has the same foot needs. They are all easy to clean. Clorox wipes for me
