What are nurses paying for health care and dental care a month?

It depends on where you work, and what kind of plan or deductible you have.

Everyplace I've worked the employee was covered by the employer, then would have to pay for family coverage.

We have Kaiser, and i pay around 350 a month for health/dental/vision and life. Its too pricey IMO.

I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield and pay $175 for medical, dental, and vision per month. This is just coverage for me, since I am a single female with no spouse or children. I have had far superior health insurance at non-nursing jobs. I even had a nursing job that offered no health insurance and, therefore, you needed to buy it on your own if you needed it.

I worked at a non-nursing job as a factory worker for 3 years, and paid a whopping $20 monthly for medical, dental, and vision through Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Again, this just covered me. I worked at a grocery store that fully paid for our health insurance benefits with Universal Care.

Health insurance has taken a very steep rise in rates in the past 5-7 years. I worked for Blue Cross about 5 years ago, (pre-nursing) and saw the beginning of the "crisis" in the health insurance company's eyes then.

I worked for companies in the past who paid for insurance for the employee and was inexpensive to put the family on too, but that was about 10 years ago!!

As recently as 2004, I was paying $20 monthly for medical, dental, and vision from BC/BS while working as a factory worker for Procter & Gamble. Since P&G is a fortune 500 corporation, they could afford to absorb the costs of the health insurance. I am aware that the health care crisis burgeoned several years ago, but all of my nursing jobs have offered horrible healthcare benefits when compared to the blue-collar jobs of my very recent past.

I am paying 110 for my health and dental. That is for the highest plan with the least out of pocket. I am single with no kids, but its not much more to add husbands and other dependents on mine.

Medical only NO vision or dental: Nearly $600/mo. for family. 80/20 for in network after a $750 per person deductable. Higher ratio for out of network.

Full time employees are subsidized $200/mo.

Not sure what part-timers and singles are charged or subsidized.

We pay about $200 for medical dental and vision, plus script plan for family in MO. Bigger corp can make it cheaper .

My job is very social service focused and I make very little $. However, I have great benes. PacificCare PPO, dental and vision... $75 for the whole family. Dh recently spent a week hospitalized for pneumonia and our share of cost was a debilitating (not!) $100.
