:scrying: :scrying: Hey everyone, I failed the NCLEX. My heart is hurt but I know I couldv'e studied harder for that test. So now, I start back at square 1 turning in my paperwork and sending the fees off again. I have one question: do I have to wait 45 days after I took the NCLEX or 45 days after I got my results to take my test over? good Luck to all other waiters out there!!! :( :sniff: I'm going to have a drink. LOL:biere: :bluecry1: :banghead:

Sorry to hear that, next time you will study and you WILL PASS:) ! It is 45 days between the dates of taking the test, although you have to be given your ATT and make an appointment and depending how booked they are, it might as well be 45 days from getting ATT!. I took my first test on 2/1, didnt find out that I failed for 3 weeks and send my money in right away. I was given ATT about 40 days from that test date, so I am ending up taking my test just over 2 1/2 months later. Just get your money in and register with the testing site right away. Good luck!

Im sorry to hear that you failed. I failed ONCE in my entire college career to date. It was a math class, pre-req to get into college algebra. Mind you I hadnt taken math in 4 years. So I got a D at the end of term. I was upset, but I picked myself up and the next time I took the class I got an A. Not only that but every other math class up to calc that I have taken I have since gotten an A in.

Just goes to show what you can do when you put your mind to it. It looks like your mind already IS commited to passing this test. You will find the strength you need in order to do that :) Keep a positive attitude and do your best, thats all life can ask from you!

I am sorry to hear this. For now, just relax, lick your wounds, and review how you studied before and see what you have to do to change your study habits. Did they send you an outline of what concepts needed to be reviewed so you can see your weak points? Keep us posted, and I wish you the very best.

i know its difficult not to, but try not to beat yourself up too badly over this. its not a failure, just a delay in getting your license.

my favorite nursing instructor in school (eons ago) failed 4 times before he passed. then he went on to get a masters in nursing....

so, see even what we consider to be the smartest, most brightest of people have the same problems as we do.

4 times...and then he passed..

you will too..and in less attempts!:wink2:

Sorry to hear you failed.. One of my instructors told us, not to read too much into the questions, and remember you are entry level nurses, therefore look for entry level answers. Good luck next time.

I have not gotten to this point yet. I am so sorry that you failed but the advice I can give is keep trying. I know that if I fail I will try again. I work to hard to give up.

I did not fail the NCLEX, passed it in 1999, first try.

While we are happy to hear that you passed on the first try, this thread is to offer hope and suggestions, not to flaunt in her face that she did not pass the first time. I know you may not have meant it to come out this way, but maybe posting it here in this particular thread was a bit insensitive. I remember once posting to a person whose exam ended at 85 that it meant that it can go either way and a person kindly reminded me that then was not really the time to post that to the person, and I really felt bad. Let's show empathy and caring. The exam is really a crap shoot. We could study until we turn blue in the face, but depending on the circumstances...the type of questions, the mind of the test taker and other things, it can go the other way, even with the best of intentions.

To the OP, I wish you the best.

I agree with pagan, lets stay on topic and support the original poster (whose post was over a week ago btw and surely she/he has the answer by now).

At the start of nursing school, I failed two math tests and I had one left and if I messed that up, that was it for me. I realized that I needed to put in more effort and I did and ended up doing very well on all other test. Part of the problem was being nervous and unable to focus. I got some study organization tips from the school and it really helped. Just keep going, you will make it next time. I think the important thing is to try again. Good luck.;)

Sorry to hear that you failed, but you can do it!

Out of last years LPN class of 23 students, 6 failed, 11 passed or said they did and 6 haven't taken the test yet.

Study, don't give up.
