Another here that never sends thank yous. Especially if you got the job. The purpose of the thank yous is to put your name in front of the interviewer with the intent of getting the job. If you already have the job don't worry about it.

I agree--if you already have the job, I probably wouldn't send a thank you note. I, in the past, have sent thank you notes after interviews but for the purpose, as Criss said of putting your name out there. I like thank you notes and if it is bothering you, send a note to say thank you for the opportunity to work for that person/facility. Personally, though, I would not send a note. Say thank you with your hard work!! Congrats on your new job!! I know you will do well!

They're paid to meet with you and interview you as an investment in their facility. You're taking (unpaid) time out of your day to invest in them for your gains.

It's a mutually beneficial arrangement--both parties stand to gain--and I don't think either party should feel the need to formally express appreciation, unless that is likewise mutual.

It probably won't hurt you at all not to send it, since the purpose is to remind them of you after your interview, but it definitely won't hurt you to send one now. Even though you already got the position, it's still good to put your name out there as the new person who was grateful to be offered the interview and position... It will seem more sincere, since you are doing it even after you've been offered the job. And they may remember that when time for promotions come up...

Yes, you got the job and it's been 20 or so days now.......

BUT, the recruiter and the person who interviewed you would still really appreciate a thank you even after several weeks. It is never too late to thank someone.......you won't regret it!!!
