My program was 80% on tests and I believe 90% on the exit exam. It was worth it. I learned a lot and passed NCLEX the first time.

my LPN school required an 80% and there was no "standardize exit exam". It was very traditional....either you pass the course work or clinicals or you fail. You could re enter the program one more time if you failed but if u failed again you couldnt restart ever again. Very tough, but EXCELLENT school with a 94% first time.NCLEX pass rate!!

Hello everyone my LPN program requires that you have an 84 on all test to pass the program and you have to have a 94 on the ATI predictor test to exit to take the NCLEX! I want to know is anyone else LPN program standards this high??? I feel overwhelmed trying to read and study every little thing to get the bare minimum.

In my program, you had to pass each class with at least a 76%. No one got busted on having less than that per test, as long as you ended he semester with a 76. Also we had no exit exam.

jess - the school I attended had the same requirements. it can definetly be done, but what it meant is herculean amts of studying and being prepared. many in my graduating class could not score the 90+ percentage on the exit exam; the school gave them 4 or 5 tries. the folks that couldn't score were also the ones that really didn't put forth the effort.

The minimum grade we could get overall for each class and exam was a 75%. I didnt have an exit exam (we were supposed to) but I think they are starting it now.

Many schools set those high standards so that their students are able to pass the nclex first try. It can be done, I got all A's and 1 B (86%). Dedicate yourself to hard work and studying. Also get an NCLEX book and practice NCLEX type questions, I would suggest Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX book (its green), Exam Cram practice Questions book, etc.

For ATI exit, at least a 97% chance of passing NCLEX which equated to around 76% individual score. If you fail that, you don't get to graduate and must do Virtual ATI in order to qualify to retake the exit exam.

Having just graduated and waiting to take my NCLEX in Jan, my advice is this. Cut out any distractions in your life that keep you from studying. For the things you can't cut out like if you have children, are married, a job etc, figure out how to manage them so that you maximize the time you spend studying. Sit down with your significant other and explain you need their help/cooperation to do this. Explain that things that aren't a priority will just have to wait. If you have little kids, find a babysitter, family member to watch them regularly so you can have quiet uninterrupted time to study. If you find yourself falling behind, request a meeting with your professor, take advantage of tutoring services, or form a study group. Do whatever you have to as soon as possible when it is still possible to turn around a bad grade.

Also, if you don't already have one, buy an NCLEX prep book like Saunders and use it along with your text books. Learning how to answer NCLEX style questions is a big part of nursing school. In my experience the earlier you become familiar with the style of questions and practice answering them, the better.

Wow no rounding? That is crazy my school did rounding. If you get a 74.5% and above, then it would get rounded to a 75%

75 is passing and on the math you have to make a 95. You get one more shot at that or you have to repeat.
