Has anyone taken Micro? All I'm hearing are horror stories! I am in the middle of Anatomy and scheduled to take phys and micro during Fall semester. I have no idea what to expect from this class!

Tomorrow will be my third day of Micro! I'm really scared but we will see! It's too early to tell yet...I can update you if you like! Good luck with your classes! :)

Thanks Nursesoon!!!

I absolutely loved Micro. I took it along with A & P 2. It is extremly interesting and it actually reinforces alot of A and P 1. Don't stress too much just study the material and you will be fine. I learned a lot and I actually remember most of what I learned.

I loved Microbiology, so don't worry. Of course everyone is different, but if you can handle Anatomy, Microbiology will be a piece of cake. It's actually similar to General Biology, but much simpler and more interesting. You will work a lot with Microscopes and Bacteria. It's such a fun class, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

You think you are freaked out now, wait until the end of the course when you realize that germs are everywhere!!!

On a serious note, micro was alot of fun and really informative, and I am much more thorough when cleaning (hands, kitchen, everything).

Seriously! I'm one month into my micro class - I took a look around my bathroom yesterday and just thought...EW.

To the OP - you can definitely do this. I was freaked out as well before starting, and I definitely study more than I did for A&P 1, but I'm doing well and I not a natural at this topic by any means! Good luck!

Not a bad class at all! This website seems to be bad for trying to scare the crap outta people and make it seem worse than it is. It is just like any other class... study, give it what you got... and you will make it out with an "A" - no problem!

I took micro this summer- so it was a short, intense class. As with every course the instructor you get matters a lot, but I can honestly say it was my favorite class thus far. It is interesting- so much more so than basic bio, and if you can manage to get through A&P, micro will be a snap! Don't dread taking it, fall in love with bacteria and viruses and have a great time!

Sigh... I miss M*R*. I wish I could move to Nebraska. She was a really good lab/lecture instructor. Sometimes, it is better to have instructors who explain in detail. Micro isnt too bad.

I LOVED micro, if I could I think I would take it again for fun!! I was not so great at lab, at the time I needed new glasses so everything under the microscope looked the same to me. I got a B and was thrilled.

I had a great instructor, but she was very tough. We started our with about 25 students and by the end of the semester, I think there was about 12 of us. Out of those left, many got C's and D's.

One thing that helped me was buying a small digital voice recorded. I bought mine at radioshack for about $50.00. I would put the lectures on my Ipod and listen to them on the way to school and when I was studying. I would go to sleep to the sound of her voice - lol! Good luck!!

Thanks all. I think it's the unknown that's hardest about these classes. I really need As so that adds to the fear and pressure. But hey, we'll find out in the fall!

Horror stories?? I LOVED micro!! I would take it again and again if I didn't have to pay for it, lol. I found it fascinating.
