I started nursing school on 1/12/15 and it has been the most stressed week I have had in a long time. I have really have to sit down and make a "life schedule" lol that's what I call it in order to be able to study for all of my classes. This is gonna be a challenging 2 1/2 years for me but I know I can do. To all of the new nursing students share some of your thoughts about your first week of school.

I start my second semester next week. I saw the syllabus and wow! Time to get a planner and start scheduling ahead of time. I feel like I already need to start reading

I start on Tuesday. Like the previous poster, our syllabus posted (64 pages!!) and is very intimidating. I sat down with my planner last night and wrote in all of the assigned readings and tests/papers/etc for the semester. I definitely need to manage my time well if I am going to get everything done.

You will be fine. Take one chapter at a time....Its very doable. All you need is motivation. When you want something, everything is possible...always remember that. Breathe and don't let anything or anyone intimidate you or stand in your way! Good luck! 😊
Thank you so much mommieNurseRN!!

My first week was awesome, and not at all what I expected. I think that I am very lucky with the university I chose and my instructors, all of whom I really like. They are extremely supportive and well coordinated with each other and have clearly put a lot of thought into maintaining a rigorous, effective program while minimizing the stress where they can. Good luck to all of you this semester!

I won't say mine was awesome, but it wasn't terrible either. I think I'll survive but talk to me in four months at the end of the semester.

I started about over a year ago and ibmade a post somewhere during the beginning stages of my program. I look back on it now and chuckle.
Don't fret. Its just an adjustment that you'll get used to soon enough. You'll eventually fall into a routine of being bombarded with test schedules (and the obligatory post test freakout) project, and clibicals. Stress will become almost second nature to you but as time goes on you'll be much much more equipped to deal with the demands.
Best of luck to you and your progression :)

I finished my second week of nursing school yesterday. And it kind of feels like every time you try to come up for air, some one else pushes you right back down under water...it is certainly a lot of information, and a lot of work. But I am loving every minute of it! I am still working on perfecting my study schedule, but I will get there. We had our first test already...I got a 96%
We will get into the groove of things, and learn to handle the overwhelming amount of stuff we need to learn and do. And we will succeed! But congrats of finishing you first week, and hope you have a great second week.

My first semester looks like a breeze now compared to my second!! My first week I did feel a little overwhelmed. I think it's always like that the first week though. They go over expectations, assignments, and syllabi. I already have a bunch of assignments due next week. You just have to sit down and take it one step at a time.
Thank you all for ya'll nice comments!! I'm gonna stick in there and do what I have to do.
