FCCJ Fall '09???

Anyone else planning on applying to FCCJ's nursing program for Fall '09? I figured we might as well start a "support group" thread of sorts for those of us who are. Never too early to start, right?

With 223 points, you're a shoe-in! :)

As for the rest of us...it's a nail biter! I applied for summer term with like 186 and change...and missed the cut off of 190.something! I was sooo down! I retook the NAT and I've applied with 199. I hope that's enough. I really REALLY want in! I'm really curious about when Orientation is - I have a week's vacation planned in August, too.

So we're in a 'wait and see' mode. Patience is a virtue, right?

I think we should be hearing something around the second or third week of July. Good luck to you. :D

Boy! And I felt like a braggart when I posted a 219 (for Summer)! :icon_roll

OK, the stuff you need to get done can be done in a day. For those who have a criminal record, get a hold of the court NOW and get copies of the court records, including disposition. Even a determination of "not guilty" shows up on the background check and you have to have the records to support that. (BS if you ask me, but alas, I had to get those records!)

Your uniforms will be ordered online. (For those of limited fundage....wait until Orientation to see if you can get some free from the graduating class and YES all sizes and genders are usually available!)

Orientation was cool. Nothing spectacular, but cool nonetheless. Be prepared. We had instruction time during orientation for the first Dosage Calc test and had the test on the first day of class.

If you check out Summer of 09, you will see we were going nuts, but it basically took the full 8 weeks before we were notified.:angryfire

Half way through the term now. LORDY! It goes FAST!

Good luck to those waiting on the letter! :D

Hope everyone has a good holiday weekend! Be safe, and hopefully we'll hear something next week!:anpom:

Hi everyone! I'm new to the post but I'm excited to find other fccj nursing school applicants. It helps to know that I'm not the only one going crazy right now. I tried calling the other day to find out about orientation and the girl who answered said she did not know the date. All she could tell me was that classes start Aug. 31st. I think it will still be at least two more weeks before letters start going out. From what I've heard they like to wait until the last minute. I feel pretty confident that I'm in but I still have doubts and don't want to put all my eggs in one basket. When anyone receives a letter let us know. It would be great if all of us from here get in!

Oh, the anticipation is killing me!! If anyone finds out about when orientation is will they post it please? I'm headed out of the country from the 20th-26th of Aug. and everything is already paid for so there's no way I can cancel (not that I would want to!). I'm not in the 220s so I'm scared to death of being rejected-we're all in the same boat! I'm pretty sure we should here in about 2+ weeks, keep those fingers crossed!

Last year they got their letters on July 9th! That would be so awesome if we got ours that soon! Good luck everyone- hopefully we'll hear soon!

Omgosh! I'm so anxious to get my letter! That would be great if we found out this week, I don't think I could wait another two weeks haha....I'm going out of town July 28th-August 13th and I'm afraid I'm going to miss orientation!! yikes! I wish someone knew when orientation was. Its a relief though to know that classes don't start till the end of August.

I want my letter so bad! lol i dont live at home so i've been calling my stepmom to check the mail everyday for me!! its been 5 weeks since deadline and they say 6-8 weeks.... i hope 6 that would mean next week!!! I heard if you get a big packet your in and a small envelope means no... im hoping to see that big envelope :) Im going crazy lol

Well it was this exact day last fall that they received their letters. I've noticed a pattern from looking at other years and the letters have always (for a majority of the people) arrived on a Wed or Fri. My mail usually comes around 1. I'll post either way once my mail comes. :anbd:

nothing today =(

Nothing for me today either. I'm going out of town tomorrow and won't be able to check again until Monday. I'm going to try and enjoy my short vacation and not think about it. It would be great though if there were a letter waiting for me when I get back....
