I took my first exam today since starting distance learning. I used Chancellor's book and exams i bought on excelcior website. I didnt study untill this past December and thought I new the material I am so disapointed in myself and now they say I have to wait 60 days to retake and spend another 235. I wont give up but do you think I should start another subject such as Ethics and try to test for that in a month or so or stick with Lifespan and wait it out.? I really want to move along with this program. I felt so confident about the material this morning before I left to take the test What the heck happened I dont know!

I'm sorry you failed your first test but you'll get it next time. In the meanwhile I would take a breather from Lifespan and work on studying and testing out of another subject. I know you're down but it's not the end of the world. Now get up and dust yourself off and try it again.

I know the feeling! I failed LS2 in December after passing 5 previous exams with A's and B's. However, I signed up immediately to retake (in 60 days) and moved onto LS3 - which I just passed with an A this afternoon!
Do not wait - keep moving forward. You don't want to waste valuable time waiting on LS1 again. You should take a break from that material and come back to it in a month or so. In the mean time you need to knock out the next one.:wink2:

You'll get it next time, but try to do as others have suggested--move to another one and come back to it, unless it is overwhelming to do it that way. Good luck to you!

That's so dissappointing. I suggest you take the DSST version. The information is the same, it's only $80 and Excelsior will accept it. Also, you won't have to wait 60 days, you can take it while the info is still fresh in your mind. I took the DSST version (and passed) on Monday, it wasn't too bad. Good Luck! YOU CAN DO IT!!!

hi nursedanna, thank you for your kind words. Can you tell me what DSST version is and how to go about getting it. Thank you Georgygirl
Hey Georgygirl!
DSST is just like CLEP. It started out as DANTES for the military then it changed to DSST when they made it available for everyone. Here is their website http://www.getcollegecredit.com/
Try to take it from someone who offers it computer-based, otherwise you will have to wait 6 weeks for the testing site to receive the paper test.
Hang in there!:hngon:

CLEP is also an option, too: http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html
Excelsior accepts the Human Growth and Development CLEP. I did that in lieu of Lifespan Developmental Psychology.
Sorry you didn't pass ... sometimes the study guides can't replace a good textbook! I'm sure you'll nail it next time.

I never relied on study guides.
Good luck.

So sorry that you failed your exam. I know that is so disappointing knowing that you've studied hard and paid over $200. I am scheduled to take the DANTES version of Lifespan next month, it is much cheaper around $70 and $20 for registration fee. I know you will pass next time since you are now familiar of the content material. Good luck to you!!:)
