Excuses for Missing Work

How about a list of wierd excuses for not coming to work?

My favorite: I can't come in today, I'm having vision problems. I just don't see myself working.

I want to thank you for this topic because I AM calling off tomorrow, and I haven't decided yet what to tell them. I think I may go with the explosive cat diarrhea!

My personal favorite is the "FAMILY EMERGENCY" that one of our MA's had the other day. This of course was the day after she was *****ing that the other MA had called in sick. I had to do my triage job, put patients in the exam rooms, run the script line (because the other nurse was late) and send out 50 lab letters. All while I myself was sick cuz I'm too stupid to call in

I must admit the one time I called in "sick". I hated my job and went out to look for another. While I was out, my apartment was broken into and the the police called me at work to say i had been burglarized. I quit that day before they could fire me. Luckily, i got the new job.

The other day I went to a local store at 3 in the afternoon and saw an aide that works at our facility.....well when I got to work I saw that she had called in for the 2 - 10 shift with a gas leak in her house....so I guess she was at the store getting "fresh air" in the CD department!!

well, I just called off a few hours ago for daylight tomorrow. I didn't want to go because I am in Ohio visiting my family, and I live in PA. I had 3 days off, one day on, and another 3 off so I don't see the point in driving home to work one lousy day. Anyway, when I called off, I told the supervisor, who is a friend of mine to state the reason as "out of town with a family emergency" She simply said she would write, "She's a lush and she wants to go out, get drunk, and get some." The way my job has been lately, I don't really care what she tells them.

well...I've beenout a fewdays...

I cut my finger at cooking school(during the final, no less)

and had to have 2 sutures put into my fingertip...

oh...if anyone cares.... at school I did a pressure dressing, and finished the test...

got the highest grade in the test...

(teacher said to me that I had balls to finish the test like that...)

ENUFF said! :D

In nursing school, this one student came to clinical late. His clothes were all wrinkled, he was a mess. His excuse for being late, "The headlights on my car don't work, so I had to wait till the sun came up to drive in to the hospital".

How about this one....I won't be in today or tomorrow....my feet hurt.:(

Actual call from a CNA.

I think we can all relate!
