  1. ALong the line of the beer story, my first IV was during my ER rotation of school... this guy had a blood alcohol of .185 at 11 o'clock in the morning. That 18g slid right in his hand without any problem! He picked up his head, looked at me and said "That didn't hurt a bit!" WONDER WHY!!!
  2. same goes with laxatives... no way in hell I am giving MOM to someone at 9a when it works just as will at 3 o'clock. Not just for my sake of course, I have to keep my aides happy!
  3. I work in a facility that has recruited nurses from puerto rico to staff the building. Most of them speak little or no english, and as you can imagine the charting is quite difficult to make sense of. I think the most memorable thing I saw was a pharmacy return sheet where the reason for return of meds simply said "PT DEAD"
