Ever Been Recognized?

I know we had the thread recently on if anyone has ever met anyone else on allnurses in real life. Now my question is, have you ever been recognized on here? Let's say a co-worker recognized your specialty, your attitude, maybe a catchphrase. Maybe a story was detailed enough for someone to recognize it. I have been lucky to stay anonymous so far!

So, have you guys been "caught?" ;)

I haven't *personally* been recognized, but I have recognized someone else. She ended up in my orientation class for a job I recently accepted. I knew who she was because she posted in a state specific portion of AN and revealed what city she was from, the name of the hospital we both accepted positions at, and her username was her first/last name. :banghead:

I have known a few..I am sure I have been recognized since becoming a mod and using my dogs picture but I don't put out there what I don't want known

Surprisingly no, considering I'm fairly transparent. It would appear that the vast majority of nurses I know IRL have never heard of AN, or have heard of it but don't post.

I over heard a student saying to another, "she doesn't use her name but you can tell it's her". Fortunately, I don't post anything I wouldn't own up to in public. Not for lacking of wanting to on occasion!

I've been recognized twice. The first person who recognized me was a former coworker who could tell who I was due to the descriptions of my former workplace. She sent me a private message and asked, "Do you happen to work at _____?"

The second person who recognized me was a former classmate. I posted once or twice about the highly disorganized nursing program that I attended. She put two and two together and figured out I sat near her in class for basically the whole year.

Oh man! I would break a cold sweat if someone messaged me and had "figured me out." I like the secrecy of allnurses. I feel I can truly vent without repercussions. I've heard my others coworkers talking about articles ans topics they've seen on here, but I have never been open about having an account. I intend to keep it that way! :cat:

I hope not. I do worry about it sometimes though. I haven't said anything too incriminating but I still like the anonymity.

I haven't had confirmation that anyone has recognized me from this board, although I'm sure it's possible. I have had that happen on another board, but it was a person who then relayed to me a positive thing from the time we had worked together.

As others have said, I don't put anything out here that I wouldn't be willing to own! (I am rather outspoken though so that's a pretty broad range...)

I don't think I've been recognised, but there is one person on here that I know, not through nursing but through another forum we were both on. She started a new account once she graduated though and I can't for the life of me remember he new name.

There's actually a regular poster here that I'm wondering if she's an IRL friend of mine (or rather, someone I got to know on a different, totally unrelated message board, then she moved to my state and we've gotten together a few times). I haven't asked her, though.

Nope, not yet!!! I will try to stay anonymous!!

Not on AN but I was outed on Twitter by my cousin based on my political rants .
