Am searching for a computer charting program/system for the Emergency Department which you think is easy to use, is complete in it's content and doesn't require you to flip through dozens of screens in order to use. Is there a program out there that can do this?

I use McKesson's HEC. While not perfect, it is easy to learn/use, no flipping through dozens of screens, and gets the job done.

Medhost. Silver Cross Hospital uses it.

T-system is the BOMB. Seriously, triage, assessment, meds, interventions..all in one page. So easy to use

I have worked in two different emergency departments both with different charting systems. One used ProMed which I really liked compared to MedHost which is the other system I have used.
MedHost is very text oriented in the charting and medication ordering. I do like how they have a graphical orientation of the rooms for the big board so that you can see everything that's going on, when that's compared to just a list.
ProMed has a better graphical interface but some things can be kind of buried but I think that's going to be similar with any program. I do like how ProMed has a method for orders. Once the doctor puts the order in it's there, when you see the order and you are going to do it, you acknowledge the order. When it's complete you click the complete section. That way if something is acknowledged but still not signed off, you can see who acknowledged the order and go ask them if it was completed rather than having to ask around if say Mrs. Smith's urine has been collected or not. MedHost does not have that capability which is something that I do miss because you are never sure if something has been completed but they just didn't mark it off. I miss the acknowledge field.
Anyway just my $0.02 about the two programs I have used.

We used PICIS/ED Pulsecheck. Loved it. Now that I'm in an ER that is on paper, I really miss PICIS!!! (Although at least we're using the T-system ... if I have to use paper, that's what I like.)

Medhost...hands down
The t-system I used was on the computer. We did have the t system sheets for downtime, but we charted and got labs and everything on the computer. You should convince them to get it! :)

Medhost. I find that it has a good flow thru the charting.

We use CERNER FirstNet at our ED, It's pretty easy to document on and easy to navigate.

Medhost is awesome.
FirstNet is terrible. It should be banned.
