  1. Austin??? No State Income Taxes
  2. Really? The last time was when I had hair on my head
  3. First thing, notify the C.O. the inmate is HIS responsibility, then move him into the clinic for a workup for an O.D. I.V.,Blood sugar for accuracy , Call the MD on duty
  4. thats why there are 34 CA facilities striking thursday the facilities think they can do anything to us that they want///Slavery , how's that working for us?
  5. You are a cost not an asset. The Company negotiates the billable rate,( my last assignment...rate 95.00/hr) and then your Money starts going away. It doesn't matter what you Contract says, the facility does what IT wants, schedules, hours to work, Breaks, floating. This is why I'm leaving nursing. I thought Slavery went away.....
  6. As a wise man told me once and he had 40 years on the Job. He said "Son, this place was here and running before you go here and it will be here long after you are dead and gone"
  7. First thing I learned in the ED is Never stand when you can sit, never sit when you can lay back, and never volunteer for anything
  8. My last assignment my stipend?? $675/week, my weekly net? $1400.00. It is time for travel nurses to stop taking table scraps
  9. Medhost...hands down
  10. As far as money do what I do . If I get a "Quote" from a recruiter I tell them I want it included in my contract and have the account manager initial it
  11. Trust me i won't deal with them again
  12. I have their handbook, I just got off the phone with them after telling them I would not be going to an assignment in California. Problems? the pay rate was 17.50 after all the Stipends. the recruiter had told me that I would be making over 1,000$ per week, then suddenly the take home went down to 900$. When I told the recruiter that an hourly that low, I didn't want the IRS coming to visit....Stay away from them, They like to threaten their Nurses with Lawsuits
  13. I'll tll him ya'll said hey
  14. When I get submitted for a Job, I have already asked the recruiter, what is my take home, every week or every two weeks, AFTER Housing ,or stipend is taken out, basically after every thing is taken out. If you work in California, ask what is your Blended rate. Some Hospitals pay on a blended rate, where everything over 8 hours is time and one half. The thing you have to realize there is no "FREE" Housing. The best way to get a set # of orientation days is to ask for it to be included in your contract. And when you get your Contract, READ it all. And if they won't put it in, go somewhere else. As a wise man said, "This isn't personal,it's just business"
