EpiPens for Schools

Oops...meant to post this in the School Nurse forum. Can I delete or does a mod have to move?

sooo... i received my january replacement order. I called them when i was placing my order since we're only allowed one order per year and asked if i should order my juniors at the same time, but expressed concern about getting pens that would expire within the school year. I received my order last week. It was just juniors set to expire mid year next year and no regulars. So now i've got no regular stocks. I called them again and asked what was up and was told there was a shortage and he didn't know when they'd be back in stock. I inquired if he knew if the FDA would be extending lot number expirations as they did in the past - the man i spoke to didn't know. The only somewhat helpful piece of advice i got was to re-order my entire order next january so that my juniors would stay non-expired.

I let my supe know, made notes on my packing slip of the conversation and put everything with my now expired epipens. yay.

For what it's worth, i have several children who have expried epipens who simply haven't been able to get them yet. All i can do is just make a note of it.

I am in the same position. My stock Epipens are expired and my replacement order has not been filled. ( Request in September) I was able to get a set of JR's and Regular Auvi Qs from their free school program.

My regulars came, but not my juniors.

I ordered in August. Last week, without any notice, a box with 2 regular Epi-Pens was sent to our school. No note or anything inside, so I can only assume they are from EpiPens4Schools. I'm without juniors. Luckily all of our parents (who have tried) have been able to bring in up-to-date jrs for their kids. These are mostly the generics or Auvi-Qs.

Well, yes...but am I just totally missing any info there for their school program?

but when you click the link about halfway down "...kaleo-cares" it takes you to another page but it still doesn't give any specific information on the school program or how to sign up.

Ha!! Sorry I got distracted by a kiddo!

We have juniors expiring in sept and my regulars are exp this month. We are fortunate enough to also have a set of Auvi-Q on my campus. So if I have a field trip, I still have atleast 1 jr and 1 reg on campus.
