On a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 meaning you hate nursing, and 10 meaning you love nursing, rate your level of enjoyment of your nursing job.

I'd have to say a 10 for job security, job satisfaction and salary. I know some of your are thinking "is she crazy or what"? I can't imagine doing anything else and I think I have good salary but take in consideration that I've been doing this for near to 33 years. Now you may be thinking...she's senile!
Do I enjoy going to work everyday? No, I wish I could go back to being PRN but I can't working in medical imaging. But I do like my job. Had you asked me 2 years ago when I was still working the floor I would be telling a different story. More like 10 for job security, 3 for job satisfaction and 7 for salary.

I enjoy my job now that I am back on an OB unit. I would rate it at maybe an 8. I would rate it higher except for the fact that my chronic health problems make working full time nights difficult sometimes. But retirement looms in the far future and I keep marching on. When I feel good I would have to say I love my job!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd have to say 9.5. Of course, not every day is perfect, but in general, I'm very happy with nursing!

I think 3. I've had root canals with less than adequate anesthesia so I sure nursing isn't a 1. 2 seems too close to 1 - so it's got to be 3 for me.

I'll give it a 9. The days are few and far between when I leave work feeling like I haven't made a difference. Making a difference lets you forget the aching muscles, nagging families and management's latest hoop to jump through....

If I could do it the way that I wanted to, with less weekends and nights and not having to get called on my days off all the time, I'd give it a 8.5, but because I work OT almost every week, don't get OT pay for it, get guilted into shifts that I don't want and miss alot of family events (or go on no sleep) I'd have to say it's more like a 4.5.
It's not the bill of goods they sold us in school, that's for sure.
