Mar 31, 201016 yr Hi everyone! I'm planning on going to COT and was wondering if we are able to listen to music as were running? I love running but I am awful when I do not have any music to keep me going. Thanks so much in advance!
Apr 11, 201016 yr Bear in mid that other things beside PT regs happen.. most army posts (for example) running or walking or biking or moving with headphones is unauthorized unless in a gym or inside in order to prevent accidents.... created by the highest ranking NCO of that post/base.. v/r
Apr 14, 201016 yr In the AF you can run with ear phones on as long as you're on a track or in the gym; you can run with ONE in your ear if you're on the street. (No one does that - they just don't bother - can you imagine running with one earphone? LOL)In the AF the wing (typically the base) commander sets the policies.
Aug 14, 201015 yr Until you've run to "Funky Cold Medina" at 0500 you really can't say you've lived... :)I was just on here trying to scrounge for more info about COT (starting in a little over a week). I agree with the others. That moment would be priceless in hilarity. Thanks for sharing!
Aug 14, 201015 yr I just realized that we never had any music played while we ran at COT. Who do I write about that? lol
Aug 16, 201015 yr It wasn't about the distance, but the time. We would go out and circle the track until they told us to stop. One time I ran 3.5 miles before we quit, and I'm a slower runner. Other times they would vary the run. We would go all out on the straightaways and jog on the turn. There is a 5k also. But after running on the track in circles, the 5k was nice to get off that track.

Aug 16, 201015 yr It is difficult to stay motivated to run when COT is a little under 5 months away. I could not even run a mile a year ago when I began the application process and three months later I was really in a groove and could exceed the PT standards. Now I hit the tread mill once per week. I think I got burned out from over training and now just want to keep a modest fittness level until the timeline gets closer. I think a good 6 weeks leaves more than enough time to tighten up running times and not get too gung ho about the whole thing.

It's fun, and there's so much variety you never get bored. People are getting great success out of it. By the end of it you'll be able to do pushups and situps like no other. It doesn't have running integreated in it, but it's not hard to build up some distance if you've got any running experience.
Aug 16, 201015 yr Moderator When I started P90X, I was very thankful I could already do a fair amount of push-ups!!! That Core Synergistics workout could be subtitled "101 Varieties of the Push-Up." Good times! I really like the workout, but I'm having a tough time being consistent with it due to my schedule. :-/

My knees couldn't take it anymore. Oddly, enough I can run without a problem, and I'd rather do that anyway. Seems more practical. Never know who might chase ya. I also will not do Crouching Cohen Curls.
