Class of 2015

Congrats to all those that are accepted and will be the class of 2015. I thought it would be nice to have our own thread where we can support each other along our journey. Mine is an ADN program, but I know some will be BSN as well.

With all that aside has anyone had their nursing orientation yet? How was it? What are some of the costs you have to dish out? Did it finally sink in that you will be starting nursing school soon?

Mine isn't until May 29th 9a-3p. I do know that our tops will be white and our bottoms will be green. I also know we are required to have an iPad which is included in our financial aid. I also know I have to pay $66.00 just for the drug test. The program pays for our in state CORI/SORI but I had to pay for my out of state one which was $31.00. I just payed for that today. We will be required to buy the books, stethoscope, name pin, uniforms, warm up jacket, lab coat, and more. So exciting. We will also schedule our classes on orientation day.

Lets get to know each other so we can support each other :)

Hello all class of 2015 nursing students. I will start a facebook page, but I need people to add me before I can start it. Look me up at socomgirl413 tell me you are from allnurses (it's okay if you post the message to the other mailbox, I will check it).

Okay, can't wait to get this started :)

Just sent you a message on FB!

I recently got my list of textbooks.

The hard copies bundle is $786.57

The ebook only bundle is $565.75

The ebook & hard copies together bundle is $963.67

Plus there are 5 additional books not included in the bundles that total about $170.

Unfortunately, financial aid at my school only lets us use $600 for books until it disperses 2 weeks after classes start.

Picked up my uniforms and lab coat today! Got my spiffy name tags with " RN STUDENT" on them! Still waiting on that book list tho! At least it's happening, i am getting excited more and more!

I am an ADN student.....found out I got in a few weeks ago and I STILL can't believe it. I wasn't expecting to get in on my first application because it is so competitive here. I have orientation July 2nd. Have to go get my physical and vaccinations and all that. I can't find my proof of vaccinations anywhere, so that is a super bummer.

Had my orientation today, yay!! Very informative, but overwhelming as ever. Thought I would be taking a break this summer, but it looks like I'm going to have to take Microbiology on top of everything else. Program starts Sept 30th... can't wait! :D

You can ask your doctor for titers to be drawn to show you are immune from your immunizations. I had to do that because my adult doctor lost my vaccination record when I switched.

Hi everyone in class of 2015! I'm super excited to start my the last 2 years of my BSN program in August. Our orientation is the Saturday before classes start, and since getting my acceptance letter in early May I haven't heard anything of what we need to have done before then, but I'm anticipating physical, drug screen, background check, all that fun stuff. Our program is pretty small with only 50 students, so I think it will be a close group by the time graduation comes around! I also am working on a double minor in Community Health Promotion and Psychology, so I'm used to being busy but I know the next 2 years will be a new kind of crazy. I hope to possibly work in some way with Neurology after I graduate, anything related to the brain is fascinating to me. It's awesome meeting you all!

Class of 2015 here!

BSN - starting the program this fall after completing all pre-reqs and being accepted!

Single mom of 4 kiddos, ages 3-(almost) 11. I work full time at the hospital in the ward I plan to work one when I graduate, Oncology. I *LOVE* it! My manager has already told me I have a job when I graduate :)

Our orientation was earlier this month. We wear navy blue scrubs, white shoes, white lab coat. We wear our scrubs to class on campus and to clinicals, which is new to this semester.

I'm SO excited! I'm turning 36 next month and can't wait to get my second career moving!
