Charge pay

.75/hr for the relief charge nurses. This is something that just started recently. A long time ago it was .50/hr and they dropped it saying they built it into every RN's salary. A year or so again, they began paying .75/hr.

It's built into my salary as a "Clinical Nurse III", or so they say, so I get nothing.

I have been working agency since June, but before that I was getting $1.50/hr at my full time job in ER when in charge. This was in Detroit at St John NE Comm Hosp, since then closed. Hope it helps!

$.75 is NOT worth charge. Unless it entails no real duties or responsibilities. I would certainly not accept charge with no compensation at all for it.

I used to get a whopping $.50/hr for the privilage of charge nurse.

We don't have set charge people, it is rotated with no rhyme or reason as to who is put in charge( other than being trained to charge). We get 5% of our base pay so roughly $2/hr for doing charge.

Well, I need to move to where you are. 5% = $2? You make $40/hr? Wow!

Charge nurses at our facility make 2.60 an hour more. They are fighting to get it increased to 3.00 an hour. If you are assigned to be charge, then you get the pay.

Where I am it's $1.00/ hour to do charge.

We get this much for being in charge

HARDLY worth it in my opinion. Since so many nurses are senior to me, I hardly ever "charge" ...fine by me.

I never called it getting paid to be in charge,I always called it combat pay! :eek: :eek:

$1 an hour. Some of our nurses love charge, so I rarely do it. Not too long ago you were charge with a group. That was truly bad.
