Charge pay

We have 3 nurses that cover charge 7 days a week. If one of them calls in and another nurse has to cover, or if one takes vacation and a floor nurse is scheduled charge, we are not compensated.

:confused:

Do you all get paid when you take charge? If so, how much? Could I get hospital names, cities and states? I would like to have a list of hospitals to bring to the director.

Thanks for your time.

Hi;

Our Head Nurse rotates charge duties on PM's & Nites. Days has

2 Practice Leaders that are usually in charge.

The Head Nurse makes the assignments. We get $1.00/hr. extra for charge. It is DEFINITELY not worth it. We get an assignment just like everyone else. We also have to make out the Day Shift assignment--which is really tough & takes a lot of time. We also go to a Charge Nurse Mtg. at 0330 that lasts about a 1/2 hr.

I hate being in charge!!

We $1.50/ hour. Charge nurse takes a full assignment. NOT worth it to me. I HATE being charge.

$1.00/hr for charge. CN is different on each floor. Some are great, some just take the extra money and do nothing. I try to cover for LPN's when needed, take 3 patients, and keep assignments and floor running. I never went to staffing meeting. I left that up to HN.
