CCAC Spring 2011

Just wondering if anyone else on here has applied to CCAC for the spring 2011 semester?

Woohoo. Got my acceptance letter for Allegheny evenings. Good luck everyone.

Congratulations to those who have been accepted and to those still waiting, be patient I am sure the letters are on the way! I got my acceptance letter for Boyce today. :) I am happy but I still leaning towards applying for the accelerated bsn program at Pitt for Fall 2011. I wonder if CCAC will let me defer my seat until Fall while I figure out what I want to do.

Liteweaver99, as I understand the only program in spring for Boyce is fast track, so that is what you're in. In a little more than 18 months, we will have an associates and can take boards! Yay!

Oh my god....so much to do! For those of you who havent got their letters yet...here's some things you can do to get a jump start. FBI fingerprinting...go to pa.contentid.com/index, go to department of welfare. I called and registered because the online was confusing. Reason for fingerprinting is employment with the significant likelihood of regular contact with children. You will get a code, and take that to a registered ups or other location found on that website. Register for cpr, I registered with red cross, and you have to pay ahead of time. That number is 412 263 3100. Pa child abuse history clearance form cy-113. Pa state police request for criminal record check form sp4 164.. You can also purchase your stethoscope, litman is recommended.

I'm having a hard time finding a cpr course. Any suggestions?

The American Red Cross...I posted the number in my previous post.

Oh guess what? I got my REJECTION letter today saying that I did not complete developmental math. lmao. Which is bogus because I placed all the way up to Calculus. So now I get to jump through the red tape and try to get this resolved. I cannot believe this!!!! I'm trying to be calm, but honestly I'm LIVID.

OMG!!!

Did you take math 90? I think that is required no matter what you placed, but I could be wrong. Either way I feel for you, and I hope you get this resolved.

You can test out of 090, so I would definately fight that. By the way, anybody needing CPR Cert. and lives near Munhall/Homestead, I found an instructor from Munhall EMS that will certify me next Tues night. He said if anyone else needs it to call him. Let me know if interested.

Jason-sorry to hear that. I agree with htwo68. Call the Dean of Nursing and state your case! And point out your PAX scores. S/o with your scores obviously does need developmental math!

JasoninPA- sorry to hear about your issues. You will need to contact the Dean of Nursing at the north campus- I am sure you will win this fight! Good Luck!

To everyone else who got letters today.. CONGRATS! Lots to do in the next few weeks!

Did anyone else get a 2nd acceptance letter today?

I received my lovely rejection letter today stating that I was denied bc I didn't pass the PAX I applied with my NET scores which met the requirement. I contacted the nursing secretary at CalU and she said to appeal the decision, not really sure how I do this. Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to those who did get in!
