  1. Hello, and welcome incoming boyce nursing students! My name is Robyn, and I am the vice president of the Student Nursing Association. I know you all have a million questions, so I just wanted to give you a heads up on the mentoring program that the SNA instituted this semester. this program will give you the opportunity to be matched with a senior level nursing student who can give you advice that will be invaluable to you in your nursing education! I will be attending your orientation so that I am available to answer questions and sign up interested students. Hope to see you there!
  2. Krgoks, the first thing you should do is call Joan and register for registration. That is when you will be given times and dates for your classes. As for everything else, the best advice I can give you is do one thing at a time. Apply for your criminal background first, it can be done online in two minutes. Send out for your child clearances, make an appointment for fingerprints. As for the medical, I am going to the health department for my titers and what not, and a regular doctor for my physical. Drug testing is usually a walk in service, just bring your paper that is in your packet with your id, and they make sure it goes where it needs to go. Hope that helps.
  3. Jason I really hope this gets resolved quickly for you1 Best of luck!
  4. Did you take math 90? I think that is required no matter what you placed, but I could be wrong. Either way I feel for you, and I hope you get this resolved.
  5. The American Red Cross...I posted the number in my previous post.
  6. Oh my god....so much to do! For those of you who havent got their letters yet...here's some things you can do to get a jump start. FBI fingerprinting...go to pa.contentid.com/index, go to department of welfare. I called and registered because the online was confusing. Reason for fingerprinting is employment with the significant likelihood of regular contact with children. You will get a code, and take that to a registered ups or other location found on that website. Register for cpr, I registered with red cross, and you have to pay ahead of time. That number is 412 263 3100. Pa child abuse history clearance form cy-113. Pa state police request for criminal record check form sp4 164.. You can also purchase your stethoscope, litman is recommended.
  7. It definitely said nursing shoes...but I don't know about stethoscope. I guess we can find out at our fitting.
  8. If you look at last years posts, some people got theirs a few days later. They still got in, but for some reason they do not all arrive on the same day. I know you all got in!
  9. I do wish they had a clear cut list...like, this is everything you need to do. It's kind of all jumbled in there. I am afraid I will miss something.
  10. I called Joan and made my appointments for uniform fitting and registration. I am scheduled to take cpr at red cross on blvd of the allies thursday dec 16 8 - 4. Most everything else is walk in..like physicals, titers, drug screening. I am sending out for my clearances and background check tomorrow.
  11. Kaykay I can't wait for us to be classmates! Did you register for uniform or registration?
  12. I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALLEGHENY NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
