Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010

Hello All,

I am applying for Spring 2010 admission at Gordon. When is the application deadline? I do not need to take any classes at Gordon so I applied for Spring 2010 admission. I have not received an acceptance letter and that has been two months ago. When I check the website, it says that all of my information has been received, but my transcripts have not been evaluated or at least no grades have been posted for me as of yet. I need to apply to the program and take the TEAS, but I know that time is running out. I am beginning to get very frustrated! Can anyone help me or give me a name of someone that can help speed this process along? Thanks so much!:wink2:

I can definitely understand how you feel. All of the information that they give is so vague and general. I think that they could make things a lot easier on themselves if they would post the information that everyone wants to know on their website instead of trying to be so secretive about everything. It is great that you have A's in your Anatomy classes so that will definitely give you an advantage. I wouldn't worry too much about your TEAS score. I think that because they are on a point system, if an applicant is weak in one area, there are other areas that will make them a stronger candidate. I will be so happy when the waiting process is over! Good luck to you and everyone else applying. Always feel free to vent about your frustrations, because believe me, they are shared. Have a great weekend! :chuckle

Ok, listen up! Since I'm already in the program this fall, I can be an inside source for you. I used to come on here allllllll the time to checkup and see if I could help some of you out with questions etc. but the work load has me going in EVERY POSSIBLE DIRECTION!!! LOL. But anyway, as of last week, we ordered out uniforms *yippee!!!* lol and we're ordering our name badges this week. Our uniforms will be here next week and Clinicals start the 2nd week in October...scary lol. None of us know where we're going as of yet, but we'll know here soon. I'm gonna try my best and log on here a lil more often to see if I can help you all out some more. *sigh* Time to get ready for another week....lol

Hi phrozenone!

I can only imagine how hectic things have been for you. Have you had your first big test yet? Thank you for letting us know how things are going in the program and being an inside source. I hope that things continue to go well for you. Let us know if you hear anything about the upcoming class and admissions process. Happy studying!

Who are the nursing advisors at Gordon? Does anyone happen to know who is on the admissions committee? That would be too easy wouldn't it? They don't like to give out info like that!

lol! It is so true. When I went to orientation they made it sound like all the instructors got together to do it. Of course, I highly doubt that. I think it is probably those secretaries. They are probably the ones who decide. I did find something that was funny the other day.

I went to Smith Hall and on the door was a note that said "You can NOT apply for the Spring cohort any longer. Applications for the BSN program is due in November."

I just thought it was pretty funny. Those poor people probably get harassed like crazy about admissions and applying. But I feel like it is their fault. If they would update their website and give us some definite answers then it would probably benefit them.

I totally agree with you, although I hope that it is the instructors who make the admissions decisions, and not the secretaries, because one in particular is not nice at all! Let's all keep our ears to the ground for updated information and our fingers crossed!

LOL its funny you mentioned that sign that they have posted ALL OVER THE FRONT ENTRANCE to Smith Hall LOL LOL. I see that sign EVERY SINGLE DAY and I can't help but feel sorry for everyone that's really trying to apply...sucks. But I must say that the application process itself went VERY SMOOTHLY in comparison to the other schools I applied to...especially GPC UGH!!!!

GaMommy,

From what I understand, decisions won't be made until after midterm, at which point they will know who is a failing or has withdrawn from a course.I know the date for midterm is Oct. 8, so we should know by late Oct.

They will know who is failing or withdrawing from the prereqs right? Have we received a number on how many the admissions committee is looking to accept for the Spring? I figured we would know something by late October. Good luck to everyone!

Yes, from the prerequisites. Yes, I called and they decided on 85. That is so much better than 70. Okay, Okay..there's Hope.

Yes there is hope. I pray that we all get accepted.

I hope so too. Also she said they give priority to Gordon students so now I really don't know what to expect?? Do they rate all the Gordon students together and external students separately and choose from both or what?
