Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
Ok so if you think that they are actually going to FINALLY mail our letters out tomorrow. That means we should expect it at the latest by Wednesday. Well at least that is what I am figuring. I took the Regent's test on Tuesday and it was not bad at all. I took the Reading and Writing. It was EASY!!!!! So those of you who have not taken it don't worry. You will do fine.

Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
Seriously they have had since September. I am sure that there are a lot of applicants but how hard is it to say yes or no. What makes me more upset is that they already have picked everyone. So what is the hold up all you have to do is mail the letters out. It is so frustrating that they are just taking their time.

Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
I know for the fall you could not register until you went to orientation. That is where they unlocked your self register. You sit through all this boring stuff and then at the end of the day you meet in groups in the computer lab and there are 2 "advisors"/ instructors who help you self register. But I could not register until regular registration and after you had went to orientation.

Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
I was wondering if anyone has received a decision letter yet? I am sure we will get them in a couple days. I just wanted to make sure that if they had sent them that mine wasn't lost or something crazy.

Yeah I have not heard anything. I want to go to the nursing dept. and ask them when they are sending the notifications out but I don't want to be one of those people who drive them crazy with questions. And I have heard two different stories about application decisions from students in the program now. I have heard some people say "Yeah, I got mine a month earlier than the deadline". But then I have also heard people say that the nursing dept drug thier feet on their decision.

I talked with my advisor and she said that it is a rumor regarding midterm grades. Midterm grades have nothing to do with getting into the program. She said she hears all kinds of stuff regarding admission time. Just thought I would clarify in case some people are worried about getting in due to midterm grades. No worries.

Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
lol! It is so true. When I went to orientation they made it sound like all the instructors got together to do it. Of course, I highly doubt that. I think it is probably those secretaries. They are probably the ones who decide. I did find something that was funny the other day. I went to Smith Hall and on the door was a note that said "You can NOT apply for the Spring cohort any longer. Applications for the BSN program is due in November." I just thought it was pretty funny. Those poor people probably get harassed like crazy about admissions and applying. But I feel like it is their fault. If they would update their website and give us some definite answers then it would probably benefit them.

Applying for Gordon Nursing Program Spring 2010
I am applying for the nursing program for the Spring as well! And it is extremely irritating that no one will give us any answers. (Sorry I need to vent about this): So funny story. I am a transfer student and I had to go to orientation this past August because I am taking 2 classes this fall. Well I went to orientation and one of the instructors said "You can take the TEAS as many times as you want to...as long as it is prior to the application deadline". Ok so I thought man that is great. I went down stairs to sign up for the TEAS. They had a test for July 16 (exactly one week from the orientation) and August 5. So I thought that I could just give it a try on the 16th and I will reschedule another time to take it on the 5th. I assumed I would do bad because I had exactly 7 days to study but I was working every single day up until the test. I did not study at all and I made a 71.2. Well afterwards I go to the nursing department to sign up to retest on August 5 and actually study. The woman was like Oh well after you take it once you cant take it again until next semester. I told her about orientation and what they had said there. Well he was talking to freshman saying that they can take the test as many times until time for applying. And they were making a 71 sound great. She said that anything above a 70 is really good. She said that because I have A's in both of my anatomy classes that I SHOULD get in. But then I asked about the whole point system and that was that. It is just a point system and they would not explain how things are evaluated. Anyways sorry about the venting it just upset me that they were not very clear.

Teachers to take at Gordon
Hello! I am applying to Gordon's nursing program next Spring (2010). I am a transfer student, and so all of my pre-reqs have been done somewhere else. I only have 3 more classes to finish up this fall. I was wondering if anyone could recommend teachers for these classes. Any suggestions would help me tons. Psych 2103 Hist 2112 and I am going to do Eng 2112 for an elective.
