Jun 16, 201115 yr Wow, sounds like you have a full plate but it so exciting!! I can't wait till I'm able to start doing stuff in my program then it will definitely feel real. It comes out on Wednesday I have a mandatory orientation to attend and I was told I will be able to register for my nursing classes then. I'm so anxious about all of this. Good luck with your assignments, looks like you are already doing well and will continue to do so. Until your next post....

Jun 17, 201115 yr I Start in August as well. I had my CPR cert. yesterday I have bought all of my books, uniforms, steth, I have had my physical, TB test and Titers drawn. The only thing left to do is liability insurance ( we have to wait till July to buy it so it stays in effect through the rest of school. It is SOOOOOOO expensive though!!:sstrs: I have already spent over $700 and school does not start for another 3 months

How much is your liability insurance?
Jun 17, 201115 yr It is only $65.00 for 2 yearsAnd I was incorrect on the amount. It is actually $837 Here is the breakdown from my budget spreadsheetFall 2011Books $341.74Uniforms $79.95stethoscope$83.97Background$43.00Medical Screenings$255.00shoes$33.39malpractice insuranceCPR Certification$40.00School Supplies Semester Total $837.05These totals are without Tuition Insurance, and general supplies (pencils, notebooks, Ect) included.
Jun 17, 201115 yr wow - $65 for 2 years? I paid $24 for the first year for $1M/$6M aggregate - that seems really high!Anyone else's school have a certain vendor you had to get the scrubs through that you find out are plain old cherokee scrubs that you could order from anywhere (for half the price)? I ordered one set through the school and as soon as they come in and I can review the colors I'm getting them online for cheap!
Jun 17, 201115 yr I checked my packet of info and according to this paper they claim for our insurance it will be around $39 for a year of coverage so $65 for two years doesn't seem bad to me.
Jun 17, 201115 yr I am here with you. Wish me luck - I have 3 little kids and work part time. But, I am about the most positive, motivated and dedicated person you will ever meet - and I know I can do it!
Jun 18, 201115 yr Author The hospital I work at is revamping the tuition reimbursement policy... they are most likely not going to pay for ADN programs, only BSN programs starting next year. Current ADN students would be grandfathered. Wow!! Is all I can say, and glad I'm starting before the change.

I know that anything that you pray for you shall receive. We went through the same headache with getting accepted. Thats why I refuse to even say its expensive or anything like that because I know God has ways to help. Same thing with wondering if I am going to even make it to the end. I put it in his hands and follow his steps. This is going to be a journey. I am ready
