Acceptance Envelope-Thick or Thin?

Was your acceptance letter thick or thin and what school was it for--just curious as I sit here and wait to hear from one school! I hate this! :)

Mine was thin.

Good luck!

Which program are you in (if you don't mind me asking)?

Oh sorry....I missed that part of your question! I was in a 2 year community college (NHCTC in New Hampshire). I graduated last May

I've not gotten mine yet either (and won't for a while, I'm sure) but I've been hearing they're thin. I have some friends who applied to an accelerated program in the area whose deadline was last October and they all said their envelopes were thin.

I just graduated from the BHSN accelerated program. Mine was thin...arrived in late March. Good luck with the wait! And hope you are accepted :D

Mine was thin, arrived June 1st for the Fall admissions. But the year before I did not get acceped, and the letter was thin also.

I am in one of the 2 year community college programs, and my envelope was thin. Hope you get in. One thing to remember and I hope not to discourage you. In 2005, the year I applied, in Conn. there were over 2000 qualified aplicants that were turned down because of lack of openings. :o

My acceptance letter was a one page letter, so it was very thin.

OSO-

Great!! :( Anyway, I am in the process of taking my Math 137 pre-req. How do you know that there were over 2000 applicants turned down? Thanks!

Sorry for not repling faster, one of the CT nursing journals had an article about the state of nursing in CT. This stat was one that they published. Don't let what people say get you down. I was told that there was no way that I could handle the stress of school with my schedule. Well i am almost halfway through and doing well. You hold the key to your own destiny, how you use it is up to you.

It is very competetive..aside from the Nursing Journal, the article about 2,000 qualified applicants turned away were featured in some local newspapers and one of the local news channels. It also states that Ct. is near last for what they are actually doing about it..Insurance capitaol of the world, all the pharmecutical companies..and they pour their money into technology and engineering because there is no profit to investing in nursing programs...St. Mary's and Waterbury Hospital, at one time, gave grants to NVCC to hire more instructors, but stopped doing it because it had no benefit to them..they have no problem hiring nurses..Its not a profitable business, so nobody cares,,nice..huh?? I was told by a NVCC counselor that my 3.45 may not be good enough( A in Comp, B in Algebra, B in A& P ! & !!, B in micro and A in chem)..I applied to 7 programs as well as appliying to the respiratory program as a baclk up plan.....good luck to all...does anyone know when in spring NVCC or anyone else send out thier letters(someone told me they are all thin now..??)

NVCC was one of the first schools I heard from. Bridgeport was first (late February), then NVCC (I think March but I'm not sure), the GCC (MA), then TRCC, then STCC, and lastly CCC. The only one I didn't get into was CCC because they use (or at least did in 2005) a lottery system for chosing any potential candidate, which means that a C student has as much chance as an A student at getting in. And now I am glad because I chose STCC and I love it. Good luck!
