My dismay is more related to the shifting statements about the changes that were planned as well as telling workers in the Treasure building not to post photos. Why the secrecy? Yes, you stated it had historical significance but failed to make a good case for it.   Others seem to agree with me on that.

Perhaps photos aren't to be shared (if that true) just for security reasons.  Why do you think is the reason?  You sound like its something nefarious. 

The project has renderings, a price tag, a architectural firm,  and construction company.  I'm betting there are more plans than what the Times and Post have had shared with them.

What would you like to bet it'll  be done by 2028?

Meh...it's a separate structure from the mansion, built much later, and not all that historic.  And not what people go there to see.

I've been to the outside of the White House a few times.  From most vantage points, the East Wing isn't even noticeable. In the first pic, it's to the left.  And to the right in the night picture.

First of all, he's not "destroying a historic building".  He remodeling a portion.

 Like J22, I found the images of the portion being demolished a bit shocking to see.

2nd what you might not understand about America being a young country is we don't have the mindset about historical sites like much older societies like Europe.  

In building our modern cities we've plowed through existing sites often without regard to their historical significance to build our highway systems and skyscrapers.  Our mindset is more to modernize and advance than to preserve older buildings.  

We do have many sites that are historical though that are off limits.  Just this year our governor signed a bill protecting some sites from being demolished after some older homes were demolished in St. Augustine, one of our oldest cities and a tourist destination because of its history.  Many people also say "just because it's old doesn't make it historic".      https://www.citystaug.com/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=596

This is interesting because after the 2022 mid-terms the GOP decided to promote early voting.

Hmm, Hakeem Jeffries seems to think Trump is the one who is going to rig elections.

One of the things that caught me in a news update is this about SNAP benefits.  It's stunning they are still pushing the lie that Democrats want healthcare for undocumented immigrants when it's the supplements to Americans on the AFA that they don't want cut.  

Trump is having a relatively good Asian trip.  Instead of focusing on his successes there he's promoting the lie that he won three elections by a wide margin.  

Is it any wonder that people are speculating that such a dishonest government wouldn't rig the next elections?
