Shift differentials?

Just curious... Is it common for a facility to offer shift differentials for evenings/nights/holidays?

Im 26, single and don't have kids, so I usually end up working alot of holidays and shifts that everyone else wants off... which I don't mind, but a little bump in pay is kinda nice!

My hospital offers differentials for nights and holidays. My floor only does 12 hours and I have 7p-7a and I have a differential. I know they do for 'calendar holidays' whatever that means. There is also an increase in pay if you waive your benefits; its a huge pay jump if you waive your benefits, a 25% increase in pay.

Every hospital I have ever worked in had some sort of shift diff. Currently it is $3.00 for evenings, $3.50 for nights. There is no diff for weekends because we have a week ender program and those who work exclusively weekends get $4.00/hr extra. Time and one half for holidays if you work them.

mine does 50cents for nights. I have friends who claim that thier place of employement does up to 4.50. Holidays we get time and a half. We have 6 holidays.

$3.50 for the 3:00-11:30 shift.

$4.50 for the 11:00-7:30 shift.

$1.00 for weekends.

Time and a half for holidays and overtime.

$0.50 for weekends

18% of your hourly pay added on for nights (12 hr shifts only at this facility for medical staff)

$2.20 for for 3-11

$3.00 for 11-7

$2.50 weekends

$4.50 for nights and $4.50 for weekends at my hospital.

3.00 for nights. 12 hour shifts. Time and a half for holidays.

50 cents for nights??? Are you kidding me? Not worth it at all. That is why we need Unions!

We get $2.50 for pms, $1 more for nocs and $1 more for weekends.

I get 4$ on nights, 3$ on weekends. So when I work a weekend night, I'm making $7 extra. :) I work nights, so I always get the shift diff.

If I am remembering things correctly, day shift gets the diff every hour after 3 - BUT - they have to be there the full four hours.

I make about $10,000 more anually then day shift nurses.
