FYI - Resistant Bacteria Article

Check this article out in fortune mag about resistant strep in hospitals. Are you all aware of the extent of this?

Just thought I'd pass this on. It's kind of scary.

FYI, if the link doesn't pull up, search the site on "Staphylococcus aureus" and you will be directed to the article

very interesting and pretty scary.

I feel like chicken little at times ...

"the sky is falling, the sky is falling" ...

how scary is that!!!

I'll be under here for a while, just chillin' :chair:

Rather eye-opening isn't it? more important than ever to wash those hands before and after all patient contact, isn't it?

Eeek.....very eye opening.

Very scarey. Says alot for being paranoid about infection control, doesn't it?

YIKES

Scary, yes, but I for one am glad to see this information getting more coverage in the mainstream press.

We folks in healthcare haven't been very successful in handling this problem, so maybe with pressure from people who read "Fortune" there will be more incentive to do so.

(And we can start by flat-out REFUSING to prescribe antibiotics when they are not clearly indicated, you docs, dentists, PAs and NPs out there.)
