I missed the Oct. 1st enrollment date and understand that there are some changes being made to the content of the exams. I've heard they are adding a new class? Could someone please clarify. I have all my general ed requirements done and just passed nc1. I feel like I am making progress and just don't want any surprises popping up. Any help is appreciated.

i am a ec student, but made the deadline for enrolling:yeah:. from what i understand concept 3 was made into two test ( not 100% sure on that) and there is a new 3 part assessment test. you still are required to complete the cpne. also the credits for each exam have gone from 4 to 3. thats what i know and you can find more info by searching the distance learning forums.... good luck

So do you think my nc1 exam will still count? Will it be worth 3 credits now?

Anytime that EC makes a change in their curriculum, they send out letters to those involved that explain how the change will affect them. Do not worry, your already taken NC1 test will still count (I am almost certain of that). You will just be required to take the new tests and requirements that are in effect once you become completely enrolled. Good luck with your schooling. Am certain that you will find EC will meet your needs for an ADN degree.

P.S. Call the school or email them to find out now where you stand with that NC1 test. The people there are very helpful and nice.

Agreed, caliotter3! Email has worked well in my communications with advisors. They can break down exactly where you stand.

I am somewhat sure, that both NC 1 and 2 are the same as the new exams, with new names,the only thing that I saw differently was a small percentage (about 5), of the the subject areas that were different on NC 2.

In talking with EC by telephone a few weeks ago, the changes are NC-3 is being split into 2 NC's. Plus the addition of 3 online simulations -exams. (From what I can understand, kind of what nursing interventions to take in various scenarios. I'm missing the deadline too. Each simulation test = $125

You might want to double-check with Excelsior about NC1 counting ... some people have said that it will NOT count if you took NC1 and weren't enrolled before the cut-off date. Although that seems silly to me -- the content seems identical with the first exam of the new curriculum.
