Sep 19, 200223 yr There once was a police officer sitting in a speed trapon a county road. He was waiting for someone to fly byabove the 55 mph speed limit. A car approached hisradar traveling at 22 mph. The car slowly past andcontinued down the road. The officer thought about thecar for a while. A car going that slowly could be asdangerous as one going 70 or 75. He pulled out onto the road and quickly caught up to the slow moving car. After they both stopped on the shoulder, he got out and walked up to the driver's window to find out why they were going so slow. Behind the steering wheel was a pleasant older woman with four other ladies clutching their purses in the back seat. The officer asked the woman why she was driving like she was.She responded by showing the officer the sign up ahead,"See, I wasn't speeding. I was going the speed limit," sheexplained. "Ma'am, that sign is not the speed limit sign,it's to mark County Road #22," responded the officer."Oh, now I understand," she answered. The officer started walking back to his squad car butstopped when noticing the strange behavior of the ladiesin the back seat. He leaned back into the window and asked"Are the ladies are OK? They haven't said a word and they're still clutching their purses". "Oh, they're all OK,"she answered. "We just exited off of County #119."
Sep 19, 200223 yr How appropriate! I live right off of I-75! Sure do wish I traveled more near that state route 88 though! Heather
Sep 19, 200223 yr I live near I-75 & state route 153! Oooh, 153 could be fun...especially with all the construction!
Sep 19, 200223 yr Lets see... I'm near Rt 3 can you picture that???But to make up time I'm also near I-95 and RT 476 .But oddly enough, Rt 3 moves much faster than 476, 95 and 76 during my commute times.:)
Sep 19, 200223 yr That is such a cute story. However, driving behind some elderly that do drive like that make me insane. LOL
There once was a police officer sitting in a speed trap
on a county road. He was waiting for someone to fly by
above the 55 mph speed limit. A car approached his
radar traveling at 22 mph. The car slowly past and
continued down the road. The officer thought about the
car for a while. A car going that slowly could be as
dangerous as one going 70 or 75.
He pulled out onto the road and quickly caught up to the
slow moving car. After they both stopped on the shoulder,
he got out and walked up to the driver's window to find
out why they were going so slow. Behind the steering
wheel was a pleasant older woman with four other ladies
clutching their purses in the back seat. The officer asked
the woman why she was driving like she was.
She responded by showing the officer the sign up ahead,
"See, I wasn't speeding. I was going the speed limit," she
explained. "Ma'am, that sign is not the speed limit sign,
it's to mark County Road #22," responded the officer.
"Oh, now I understand," she answered.
The officer started walking back to his squad car but
stopped when noticing the strange behavior of the ladies
in the back seat. He leaned back into the window and asked
"Are the ladies are OK? They haven't said a word and
they're still clutching their purses". "Oh, they're all OK,"
she answered. "We just exited off of County #119."
