OMG! How frustrating!

and it expired in June of 2015 :banghead:

Oh that's awful!

I reach out to my parents by email and/or phone call - but for the most part do not chase them down anymore for Epipens or Asthma medication. We are fortunate to have stock epi and Albuterol neb medication available.

This is why I switched to stock Epi this year. I still need parents provide the doctor's order, but I have the Epi on hand.

Maybe Epi-pens age like fine wines...?

I laugh, but when I got in my office, all, and I do mean ALL of the creams/lotions/ointments that I am supposed to use on my students were expired. Everything. Like...some in 1994. I had to do a rush order and reorder EVERYTHING.

I was a camp nurse several Summers ago at a day camp that was borrowing space in a school. So I was "using" the nurse's office, but we had all of our own supplies and meds, etc. Well, the State randomly showed op to do an inspection and made me open the medical cabinet on the wall, even after I explained that it wasn't ours and belonged to the school during the school year. There were ointments in the from the early 90's- same as you everything was way expired. She cited US for it and took all of it. Then, once camp was over, the school actually had the nerve to call us and complain that we had thrown away THEIR meds.

When I moved into my office, I found sterile gauze packs that expired in '86. I feel for parents on the Epi-Pen thing. I've had parents try to send me expired ones and they never understand that I cannot keep an expired one here for their child. Would I use an expired one on my husband if he ingested shellfish, absolutely, Do we dispose of his Epi as soon as expires, no way- but I cannot have expired one here at school.
