Yesterday was weird

My med-surg unit tends to get a lot of um...quirky patients. Yesterday we were chock-full of histrionics, roommates who hated each other, screamers, moaners, and my favorite: the lady who accuses everyone of stealing her things.

I'm not kidding, every five minutes she called the ER to accuse them of stealing her $100 dollar lace panties. Despite a concerted effort by our unit and ER staff alike, no panties were found. Which brings me to my question: Have you or anyone you know ever been in possession of a pair of panties that cost $100 dollars? Where does one buy such panties? Are they threaded with gold? Discuss.

I just did an online search and found a pair of lace thong panties with a double strand pearl crotch for $89.99. So, yes, there are panties in that price range.

Double strand of pearl crotch?! OUCH!!!!!!! Plus, with my luck, the string would break, and loose pearls would start dropping out of my pant leg...

:roflmao:

I can't imagine ever spending that kind of money on a pair of undies. Even if I was seriously, disgustingly wealthy. LOL

Hmm. Well, I suppose if one has money to burn, why not put pearls on one's crotch? :roflmao:

If I were to steal a person's panties, I promise you they'd be new with tags and they certainly wouldn't be right off the rear-end of an ER patient. Ewww!

that's exactly what I was thinking! Of all the things to steal, I can't imagine used underwear, no matter the cost, being at the top of the list.

I don't own a single item of clothing that cost more than $100.

Not even my winter coat. On any given day, everything I have on from skin out, wouldn't TOTAL $100.

Wearing an item nobody sees but me, that costs $100, is just plain dumb.

I think your patient inflated the cost a bit.

If I had 100 dollars to burn on panties, I'd use it to get beaded pubic extensions, then I'd be fancy no matter what panties I wore :)

" beaded pubic extensions" That takes va-jingling to a whole new level....

Who would want that????

If you were not lucky, the pearls would go somewhere else than out of your pant leg. Then, you have to show up to the ER with the dreaded "foreign body" chief complaint ;)

lordy lordy lordy, but i do understaind the kind of day you had ;)
