Would you call?

I had a job interview on Monday. The interviewer told me she plans to make a decision by "the end of the week". It's nearly 1:00 pm on Friday and I haven't heard anything.

I hate playing the waiting game... Should I make a follow up phone call? Or just wait it out?

Call Monday :)

You want to make them call you? Then go to the grocery store and get your cart full and be in line in front of a mom that cannot control her screaming kids.

That employer will be sure to call you right at that moment. :)

PRECISELY!!!! I use this trick when Im waiting on my pharmacy to return my call for my refills, work to return my phone call, basically any phone call that Im really waiting on.I also like leaving my phone just out of reach on the bathroom sink and hopping in a long hot shower~never fails, it WILL ring!

Do you think this means I didn't get the job? Honestly?

I don't think the interview went great, but I had interviewed for a job at the same place months before, and accepted a hospital job (this is a clinic job) As a new graduate before the clinic job had even made a decision. our first interview seemed like it went really well.

The interviewer remembered me and our interview went pretty fast this 2nd time.

Its just hard to tell how it went.... And like I said I'm not a patient person! I'm tryingy best to be patient though!

I know its difficult but try to be patient. You did your best and you can't change anything about it now. If it is meant to be it will happen!

it doesnt necessarily mean you didnt get the job. i had a don tell me that she would get back to me by the end of the week and she didnt call me with a job offer until a week and a half went by. when she called she appologized and said that things had come up at the facility that needed her attention and she wasnt able to call me. it happens. good luck!

I will share a possibility. I have been hiring staff for our department for 6 years. I would interview everyone and let them know when they would hear from me, simple and effective. Then we started using a computer hiring system, the first time out, I told all the interviewees I would call them by X date, I turned in all my interview materials (with my choice of hire indicated) and was informed that it didn't work that way any longer. The HR dept had to review all interview notes, resumes, etc and then they would be calling the one who was hired and emailing those who weren't. I was so mortified, I called each applicant and let them know I had made a mistake by telling them I would call, they were all very understanding but now I make sure I am better informed when new systems are implemented.

I hope you hear something soon!

No, I wouldn't call unless you don't hear anything next week.

This assumes, of course, that you sent the appropriate hand written note after the interview and they know you want the job, lol. If you failed to do that, I'd do it today, as in get into the 4:00 mail even if it means driving to the main branch of the USPS, and then follow up with a phone call middle of next week.
