What is your work schedule like?

Published

What are your days on/off like? How often do you get weekends off? How often do you work holidays? etc..

Three twlves a week, every other weekend, and three holidays a year. Alternate holidays every year

M-F, off all holidays and weekends. Supposed to work 8-5 but end up working from my couch at all hours. But with the M-F thing I guess it's a trade off. I work in case management. Would much rather do this then the 12 hour hospital shifts. Tried it, hated it.

i work every other holiday, everyother weekend. not sure if you are just curious or unfamiliar with nursing schedules if it is the last one, keep in mind this depends on your setting. some places are every 3rd weekend and 2 holidays a year. most places that i know of only consider christmas, new years day, thanksgiving, memorial day, labor day and 4th of july holidays. you will have to work the days before and after. if you are nights they might have you work the night of the holiday or before. in some places you have to work the holiday and before and after. it all varies widely.

I work Baylor, so my schedule requires me to work every weekend, sat/sun 7am-7pm. For my troubles, I work 24 hours and I am paid for 32. I recieve full time benefits, and I can pick up an extra shift here and there to make extra money. I work every single holiday since most fall on weekends, but I do not mind, I like being festive with the residents.

I work strictly weekends. So, Fri, Sat, and Sun 7p-7a. Love, love, LOVE my schedule. :redbeathe

3 days a week, 12 hour shifts rotating, so 6 weeks of nights followed by six weeks of days. Three holidays a year, plus an extra for the first three years. Every other weekend, plus usually 6 mondays/Fridays every six weeks. Pick up an occasional extra evening 8 hour shift here and there.

undoubtedly, i have acquired the perfect schedule, i work from 8 to 4pm no weekends no holidays, plus i get more of my share of vacation time. having said that, after paying my dues in my chosen career i can reap the fruit of my labor, although once in awhile i make my rounds on weekends just to keep in touch with the staff that i don't get to see on a daily basis.

Specializes in Rehab, critical care.

3 12 hr nights a week, permanent schedule with every other weekend, holidays. I work whatever holidays my particular schedule falls on, so if my schedule happens to not include 4th of July, then I'm off that day. However, they make sure that you only work Christmas Eve or Christmas night (not both).

Depends on the month. Sometimes 4 days a week. Sometimes 5 days a week. Usually 7-3. The days change every month. Whether you get your every other weekend off depends on the month. I worked christmas and New Years last year.

I work M-F three 8hour 7-3 shifts and two 8hour 2-10shifts a week. I work every 4th weekend.

I work every weekend by choice because I am a PRN/per diem employee. In addition, weekend work pays significantly more at my workplace as a result of the shift differentials. I work 12-hour shifts every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
