What do you see?

If you haven't noticed by now, I like to start threads like this ever so often (sometimes they get pushed to central but that's another story, LoL.) My inspiration for this thread was an AN USER - lindarn. I often catch her kudos here and there, never seen her comment and I wondered who is this mysterious woman? I picture a lady, maybe in her 40s, blonde hair, wears glasses only to read, quiet and reserve. I could be totally wrong. I often picture in my mind what a person might look like just by reading their comments, or threads. What do you see when you read an AN USERs thread, or comments? Who is the user and what do you think they look like. This is all in fun, so please no one get offended if someone is waaaaay into left field about what they think you look like. HAVE FUN!!!!

This is sort of similar....

But I always think about how everybody just assumes everybody on here is a good nurse. Does that make sense? We all want to believe we are great nurses that never fake vital signs and are the *good* ones that come here to complain about the *bad* ones, usually.

I know that probably doesn't make any sense. I guess what I'm trying to say is... I wonder what other nurses say about the person giving that advice?

hahahaha! I totally think that too.

I have never imagined what the poster would look like. I'm not a visual person but I like descriptions. You get the cool posters, the wise posters, the naive posters, the judgmental posters, the supportive posters, the high pedestal posters, the check your spelling/grammar posters (step below the high pedestal), the stressed posters, cynical posters, funny posters, the weird posters (have to read the post two or 3 times still to be dumbfounded), the crap stirrer posters, school posters, non-posting posters (closet posters), love nursing posters (cheerleaders), should I stay or should i go now nursing posters (mid life or early life profession poster), i want a job in nursing posters, you can have my job nursing posters, and a few more I can't think of!

hahahahaha! Love it. :nmbrn:

And what constitutes a cool poster? :smokin:

My visuals are sometimes cued by the screen name, avatar, or person's location.

tokmom: always in a rainy setting, usually equivalent to being in a beautiful house like the one in The Ring.

eriksoln: often has a cat on his desk, getting in the way of his posting.

linearthinker: her posts remind me of a certain NP, so I can't help but picture that practitioner.

herring & heron: a beach setting (not too far of a stretch there)

Sometimes, a single poster fits all those descriptions.

This is a fun thread...keep it going! :D

I really like this :) I don't really imagine what people look like or what their life is like, but I do have some "go to" posters for certain reasons...

Rn/writer- love the posts, always worded in a way to convey information and emotion. A skill I long to have. It inspires me!!

Commuter- very informative and again worded in a way that you can't help but stop for a second and really take in what is being said.

Leslie- straight to the point. No bs. Just her "IMHO". I love the no frills, let's get down to business attitude.

Erik- my new cyber crush d/t the extreme giggles I get from reading his posts.
