We will not forget..

My sincere condolences to those in Oklahoma that are still feeling the pain surrounding that day.

I remember the day and it saddens me. My prayers go out to the families and the people of Oklahoma. :icon_hug:

Downtown is filled with people today; Clinton and Cheney are here. My survivor friend won't be there, though -- like so many of her group, it's still too overwhelming.

Everyone here on campus had 168 seconds of silence at 9:02.

I know that this is a little late...

I can't believe that it's been 10 years ago either. I was in class at the University of Tulsa. We got out of class at 9:20AM that morning and saw the destruction on the lounge TV (which up until that point, had never been on). We asked where the bomb had gone off thinking Beirut or somewhere in the middle east. I was shocked to my toes and my blood ran cold when I found out it was less that 100 miles away in OKC.

I lost a girl I used to babysit in the blast. It's still heavy on my heart.

it doesn't seem to have been that long ago. i was only 20 years old at the time but i remember the sadness like it was yesterday. my heart still breaks for the victims and their families.

it was one of those horrible days that we always remember where we were and what we were doing...

at my age i have three..kennedy assination. okc bombing, and the twin towers..i hope and pray that we can learn to live with each other and that the terror can end here

I also wanted to say "thank you" for everyone who remembered to pray for us and keep us in their thoughts during the 10th Anniversary of the bombing. It was an emotional day for all of us.

BTW, they have built a wonderful OKC Bombing Memorial around the site of the original Murrah building. The memorial was defintely worth my time and money to go see. It was emotional without going over the top; it gave so much information without sensationalizing the event.

If you ever get the chance to drive through OKC on I-40 or I-35, it is definitely worth it to go in to see the memorial. The outside parts are free, but for the indoor exhibits it costs $7 for an adult admission, $6 for a senior citizen discount, and $5 for college students with ID. 5 years and under get in for free.

This is something that would really be worth a family's time and money if they had the chance to see it in OKC. There are other entertainment options in that area, but I don't feel that this is the place to elaborate on those. My twins were just a few months old, and we had just returned from visiting family in Oklahoma. I was an emotional new mom, and hearing about the babies lost in that terrible act was overwhelming. For months, I was moved to tears almost daily as I thought about all the lives lost (not just the kids, but everyone) over someone's senseless, cowardly behavior.
