Hi guys so I received a 4yr RN job contract offer at Walmart.I have never heard of Walmart hiring Registered Nurses and can't rationally see any reason why they would so my guess is its a big scam. However need you guys to confirm my suspicions as I live abroad and they say truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. Thanks All.

I've never heard of a four year contract. That's a bit of a red flag but not a definite bad sign. It's possible they're hiring for an occupational health nurse in one of their corporate offices. At a store level I've never heard of that before but again with covid19 it's possible they're hiring nurses. If they ask for you to pay for any part of the hiring process I'd be suspicious. Especially if they're asking for it in bit coin or Apple gift cards.
Thanks for replying. After I queried the 4 years they said They can give me a 2 year contract and after that I can renew if I want to.Said my duties will be included in the offer letter. They however sent me a list of benefits.I Just want to be sure its a legit job offer since like I mentioned I live abroad.

Smells real fishy to me!
How were you originally contacted about the position? Was it some kind of "Dear Nurse ..... " discussing the position? Like some kind of junk mail? Like some kind of scam?
And Walmart? The biggest individual commercial retailer in the United States 'fishing' for new hires abroad?????Or should I say, 'recruiting'?!?
I bet they asked you to fill in some form with identifying data, if you were interested. Yeah, I could just see you filling in critical data on an application and then having identity theft and bank acct theft and major debt being rung up.
What is that they say about 'if something sounds too good to be true ... '
And esp if it's international fraud.
I'm just too skeptical. JMO
Thats exactly what I was saying. It just sounds a little off.Was contacted off a job search site and havent been asked to fill in any info but they are asking for a copy of my passport which I refused to provide. Not sending my personal info to anybody.

RED FLAG RED FLAG RED FLAG
PASSPORT opens up the world to scamming you!!!!!!!
Just to say, I tried Walmart's web site for employee search stuff. Nothing I saw would lead me to believe they were LEGITIMATELY seeking nurses for Canada. I really didn't do any deep search on the site though, and I will admit, this post really intrigued me. I was thinking of trying to make a REAL phone call to Walmart to question this pitch.
Was just beginning to respond to your post when your last one came through. There's still no details about what your duties would be. I did see a Canadian native Indian tribe mentioned as well as K-mart when I did that quickie web search. But scammers are SUPER SLICK and know how to portray themselves as reputable. And they dangle enough attractive bait for you to bite! Like their benefit package.
One time, I intercepted a super slick scam aimed for my Dad from a Canadian entity. The scam had even been reported on my local TV when I rec'd his 'invitation' to cash a legitimate looking check. But then they asked for him to send monies for ' international taxes & handling fees' etc. CLASSIC SCAM!!
Well, I called the bank on that check - it was drawn on a reputable big Arkansas bank draft. The CEO and I had a very gracious chit-chat. He explained the bank had to void all its green colored checks - they were STOLEN and that was what was being used for the scam. The bank had to convert over to yellow checks post-theft!
Personally, I'd chalk this off to a scam attempt. Yeah, I'd kick myself if it did turn out to be something legit. But nope, too many warnings!
To quote Elmer Fudd, 'be afraid, be verrry afraid!

Doesn’t sit right at all. I see no reason for Walmart to hire nurses and I can’t believe the wage and weekly allowance is real

Totally a scam. It's poorly written, promises way too much for a nursing job, and asking for a passport is a huge red flag. A company car? $500 per week in pocket money? No way is this real.

The most efficient Walmart worker for the year gets an official car and down the line a house of their very own? Wow, wow, wow is all I can say.
The Walmart estate next to the store? Is this the parking lot where homeless people are allowed to park overnight? Somebody with an active imagination wrote up this stupendous ad for the gullible!
