Hi! I'm an NCLEX-RN passer in the State of Illinois, but I'm still in the Philippines. I'm a bit confused about the application for visa screen. Here are my questions:
1. How do I request for Validation of license/registration to IDFPR? Should I send them an accomplished copy of the validation with the $20 draft?
2. Which VisaScreen category should I check?
3A. This is silly but I just want it to be clear, um.. Regarding Education, Secondary school is high school, right? Then Tertiary is college? 3B. After my Bachelor's degree in Nursing, I went to graduate school for Master of Science in Nursing, should I send my Grad school a request for academic records/transcript too?
I hope someone can help me... Thanks!

1. That's the exact process. You send IDFPR the form with a fee to process it. IDFPR will send the completed form to CGFNS. You can follow up with IDFPR by phone later if you want to make sure the form was processed appropriately.
2. Are you asking about Item #13 on the Form (Visa Screen Category)? There are only 2 choices there: ICHP Visa Screen Certificate or 212® Certified Statement. Nurses educated in the Philippines must check ICHP Visa Screen Certificate as the country is not included in the list of countries where English is the standard language of instruction (although in most cases it is).
3A. You are correct.
3B. Yes, you can have your school send your Graduate School transcript as well. This is totally up to you. Remember that Visa Screen is a service that grants you a certificate that says you are an entry-level RN by US standards based on your education, licensure, and command of the English language. Any post-BSN education is above the level of an entry-level nurse and would not make a difference in how your application is viewed by CGFNS.

Should I also send PRC the request for validation of license, or it's not necessary anymore?
I would. I'm sorry I can't answer the time it takes for CGFNS to process this. It's been over 10 years when I did this.

I recently had my visa screen issued. I submitted application in August and received visa screen in December but my board of nursing and nursing school were quick to send documents

This is still necessary especially with initial application. I still have to do it again for my recent renewal. In my experience approval time is around 3-4 months. Depending how quick you send all the requirements as they will not start reviewing until all the needed documents is available. Goodluck.

In my experience, if you want things done in a timely manner, you need to call them at least once a week. I wrongly thought that they are a professional organization, and with the amount of money I paid for their service, surely they wouldn't blow me off, right? Turns out, they took so long processing my documents that my application expired, and I had to pay them another 350$ to re-open my request.
I also called cgfns once a week to check on my application
It wasn't too bad for my experience with CGFNS. I haven't rang them even once. I always just opened my online account for updates. They were even the ones kept sending me emails reminding me to send all my documents. Once everything was supplied it took them a month to sent my certificate.
How about for the Occupational Visa Selection? Which do I check, H1B or Permanent Green Card? I don't have an employer yet.. Well, I'm eyeing on one which petitions for an immigrant visa...
